| 1 | 大流士 王 第二 年 六 月 初 一 日， 耶和華 的話 藉 先知 哈該 向 猶大 省長 撒拉鐵 的兒子 所羅巴伯 和 約撒答 的兒子 大 祭司 約書亞 說： | In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying, |
| 2 | 萬軍 之耶和華 如此 說：「這 百姓 說，建造 耶和華 殿 的時候 尚未 來到。」 | Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built. |
| 3 | 那時耶和華 的話臨到 先知 哈該 說： | Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, |
| 4 | 「這 殿 仍然荒涼， 你們 自己 還住 天花板 的房屋嗎？ | Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? |
| 5 | 現在 萬軍 之耶和華 如此 說：你們要省察 自己的行為。 | Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. |
| 6 | 你們撒 的種多，收的 卻少；你們吃，卻不 得飽；喝，卻不 得足；穿衣服，卻不 得暖；得工錢的，將工錢 裝在 破漏 的囊中。」 | Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. |

| 8 | 你們要上 山 取 木料，建造 這殿，我就因此 喜樂，且得榮耀。這是耶和華 說的。 | Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord. |
| 9 | 你們盼望 多得， 所得的卻少；你們收 到家中，我就吹去。這是為 甚麼呢？因為 我的殿 荒涼，你們 各人卻顧（原文是奔）自己的房屋。這是萬軍 之耶和華 說的。 | Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. |

| 11 | 我命 乾旱 臨到 地土、 山岡、 五穀、 新酒，和 油，並 地 上的 出產、 人民、 牲畜，以及 人手 一切 勞碌得來的。」 | And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands. |
