| 1 | 以下 也是 所羅門 的箴言，是 猶大 王 希西家 的人 所謄錄的。 | These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out. |
| 2 | 將事 隱祕乃 神 的榮耀；將事 察清 乃君王 的榮耀。 | It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. |
| 3 | 天 之高，地 之厚，君王 之心 也測 不透。 | The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable. |
| 4 | 除去 銀子 的渣滓 就有銀子出來，銀匠 能以做器皿。 | Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. |
| 5 | 除去 王 面前 的惡人，國位 就靠公義 堅立。 | Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness. |
| 6 | 不要 在王 面前 妄自尊大；不要 在大人 的位 上站立。 | Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men: |
| 7 | 寧可 有人說：請你上來，強 如 在你 覲見 的王子 面前 叫你退下。 | For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen. |
| 8 | 不要 冒失 出去 與人爭競，免得 至終 被他 羞辱，你就不知道怎樣 行了。 | Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame. |
| 9 | 你與 鄰舍 爭訟，要與他一人辯論，不可 洩漏 人 的密事， | Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another: |
| 10 | 恐怕 聽見的人 罵你，你的臭名 就難以 脫離。 | Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. |
| 11 | 一句話 說得 合宜，就如金 蘋果 在銀 網子裡。 | A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. |
| 12 | 智慧人 的勸戒，在 順從的人 耳中，好像金 耳環 和精金 的妝飾。 | As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. |
| 13 | 忠信 的使者 叫差他的 人 心 裡舒暢，就如在收割 時 有冰雪 的涼氣。 | As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. |
| 14 | 空 誇 贈送禮物 的，好像無 雨 的風 雲。 | Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. |
| 15 | 恆常 忍耐 可以勸動 君王；柔和的 舌頭 能折斷 骨頭。 | By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone. |
| 16 | 你得了 蜜嗎？只可吃 夠而已，恐怕 你過飽 就嘔吐出來。 | Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. |
| 17 | 你的腳 要少進 鄰舍 的家，恐怕 他厭煩你，恨惡你。 | Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. |
| 18 | 作 假 見證 陷害鄰舍 的，就是大槌，是利刀，是快 箭。 | A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow. |
| 19 | 患難 時 倚靠 不忠誠的人，好像破壞的 牙，錯骨縫 的腳。 | Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. |
| 20 | 對 傷 心 的人唱 歌，就如冷 天 脫 衣服，又如鹼 上 倒醋。 | As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart. |
| 21 | 你的仇敵 若 餓了，就給他飯 吃；若 渴了，就給他水 喝； | If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: |
| 22 | 因為，你 這樣行就是把炭火 堆 在 他的頭上；耶和華 也必賞賜 你。 | For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee. |
| 23 | 北 風 生 雨，讒謗人 的舌頭 也生怒 容。 | The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue. |
| 24 | 寧可 住 在 房頂 的角上，不在寬闊的 房屋 與爭吵的 婦人同住。 | It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. |
| 25 | 有好 消息 從遠 方來，就如拿涼 水 給 口渴 的人喝。 | As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. |
| 26 | 義 人在惡人 面前 退縮，好像逿渾 之泉，弄濁 之井。 | A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. |
| 27 | 吃 蜜 過多 是不 好的；考究 自己的榮耀 也是可厭的。 | It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. |
| 28 | 人 不 制伏 自己的心，好像毀壞 的城邑 沒有 牆垣。 | He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. |
