| 1 | 設筵 滿 屋，大家相爭，不如 有塊乾 餅，大家相安。 | Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife. |
| 2 | 僕人 辦事聰明，必管轄 貽羞 之子，又在眾子 中 同分 產業。 | A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren. |
| 3 | 鼎 為煉銀，爐 為煉金；惟有耶和華 熬煉 人心。 | The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts. |
| 4 | 行惡的，留心 聽 奸詐 之言；說謊的，側耳 聽 邪惡 之語。 | A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue. |
| 5 | 戲笑 窮人的，是辱沒 造他的主；幸 災樂禍的，必不免 受罰。 | Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished. |
| 6 | 子 孫 為老人 的冠冕；父親 是兒女 的榮耀。 | Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. |
| 7 | 愚頑人 說美 言 本不 相宜，何況 君王 說謊 話呢？ | Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince. |
| 8 | 賄賂 在餽送的人 眼 中看為寶 玉， 隨處 運動 都 得順利。 | A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. |
| 9 | 遮掩 人過的，尋求 人愛；屢次 挑錯的，離間 密友。 | He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. |
| 10 | 一句責備話 深入 聰明人的心，強如責打 愚昧人 一百下。 | A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool. |
| 11 | 惡人 只 尋 背叛，所以必有嚴厲 的使者 奉差 攻擊他。 | An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him. |
| 12 | 寧可遇見丟崽子 的母熊，不可 遇見 正行愚妄 的愚昧 人。 | Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. |
| 13 | 以 惡 報 善的，禍患 必不 離 他的家。 | Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house. |
| 14 | 紛爭 的起頭 如水 放開，所以，在爭鬧 之先 必當止息 爭競。 | The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with. |
| 15 | 定惡人 為義的，定義人 為惡的， 這都 為耶和華 所憎惡。 | He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord. |
| 16 | 愚昧人 既無 聰明，為何 手 拿價銀 買 智慧呢？ | Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it? |
| 17 | 朋友 乃時常 親愛，弟兄 為患難 而生。 | A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. |
| 18 | 在鄰舍 面前 擊 掌 作 保 乃是無 知 的人。 | A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend. |
| 19 | 喜愛 爭競的，是喜愛 過犯；高立 家門的，乃自取 敗壞。 | He loveth transgression that loveth strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh destruction. |
| 20 | 心 存邪僻的，尋 不著 好處；舌 弄 是非的，陷 在禍患中。 | He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief. |
| 21 | 生 愚昧子的，必自 愁苦；愚頑人 的父 毫無 喜樂。 | He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy. |
| 22 | 喜樂 的心 乃是良 藥；憂傷 的靈 使骨 枯乾。 | A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. |
| 23 | 惡人 暗中 受 賄賂，為要顛倒 判斷。 | A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment. |
| 24 | 明哲人 眼前 有智慧；愚昧人 眼 望地 極。 | Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth. |
| 25 | 愚昧 子 使父親 愁煩，使母親 憂苦。 | A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him. |
| 26 | 刑罰 義人 為不 善；責打 君子 為 不義。 | Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity. |
| 27 | 寡少 言語的，有 知識；性情 溫良的，有聰明。 | He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. |
| 28 | 愚昧人 若靜默不言 也 可算為 智慧；閉 口 不說也可算為聰明。 | Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. |
