| 1 | 約伯 回答 說： | But Job answered and said, |
| 2 | 惟願 我的煩惱 稱 一稱，我一切的 災害 放 在天平裡； | Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together! |
| 3 | 現今 都比海 沙 更重，所以 我的言語 急躁。 | For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are swallowed up. |
| 4 | 因 全能者 的箭 射入我身；其 毒，我的靈 喝盡了； 神 的驚嚇 擺陣攻擊我。 | For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me. |
| 5 | 野驢 有 草 豈能叫喚？牛 有 料 豈 能吼叫？ | Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder? |
| 6 | 物淡 而無 鹽 豈可吃嗎？蛋 青 有 甚麼滋味呢？ | Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg? |
| 7 | 看為可厭的 食物， 我心 不肯 挨近。 | The things that my soul refused to touch are as my sorrowful meat. |
| 8 | 惟願 我得著 所求的，願 神 賜 我所切望的； | Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for! |
| 9 | 就是願 神 把我壓碎，伸 手 將我剪除。 | Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off! |
| 10 | 我因 沒有 違棄 那聖者的 言語，就仍 以此為 安慰，在不 止息的 痛苦 中還可踴躍。 | Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One. |
| 11 | 我有甚麼 氣力 使 我等候？我有甚麼 結局 使 我忍耐？ | What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should prolong my life? |
| 12 | 我的氣力 豈是 石頭的 氣力？我的肉身 豈是 銅的呢？ | Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass? |
| 13 | 在我 豈不是 毫無 幫助嗎？智慧 豈不是從我 心中趕出淨盡嗎？ | Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me? |
| 14 | 那將要灰心、離棄 全能者、不敬畏 神的人，他的朋友 當以慈愛待他。 | To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. |
| 15 | 我的弟兄 詭詐，好像 溪水，又像溪水 流乾 的河道。 | My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away; |
| 16 | 這河因 結冰 發黑，有雪 藏 在其中； | Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid: |
| 17 | 天氣漸暖 就隨時 消化，日頭炎熱 便從原處 乾涸。 | What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place. |
| 18 | 結伴的客旅 離棄大道，順河偏行，到 荒野之地 死亡。 | The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish. |
| 19 | 提瑪 結伴的客旅 瞻望；示巴 同夥的人 等候。 | The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them. |
| 20 | 他們因 失了盼望 就抱愧，來 到那裡 便蒙羞。 | They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed. |
| 21 | 現在 你們正是 這樣，看見 驚嚇的事 便懼怕。 | For now ye are nothing; ye see my casting down, and are afraid. |
| 22 | 我豈 說：請你們供給 我，從你們的財物 中送禮物 給我？ | Did I say, Bring unto me? or, Give a reward for me of your substance? |
| 23 | 豈說：拯救我 脫離敵人的 手嗎？救贖我 脫離強暴人 的手嗎？ | Or, Deliver me from the enemy’s hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty? |
| 24 | 請你們教導我，我 便不作聲；使我 明白 在何事上 有錯。 | Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred. |
| 25 | 正直的 言語 力量何 其大！但你們責備 是責備 甚麼呢？ | How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove? |
| 26 | 絕望人 的講論 既然如風，你們還想要 駁正 言語嗎？ | Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, which are as wind? |
| 27 | 你們想 為 孤兒 拈鬮，以 朋友 當貨物。 | Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig a pit for your friend. |
| 28 | 現在 請你們 看看 我，我決不 當 面 說謊。 | Now therefore be content, look upon me; for it is evident unto you if I lie. |
| 29 | 請 你們轉意，不 要 不公；請再 轉意，我的事 有理。 | Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return again, my righteousness is in it. |
| 30 | 我的舌 上豈有 不義嗎？我的口 裡豈 不 辨 奸惡嗎？ | Is there iniquity in my tongue? cannot my taste discern perverse things? |
