| 1 | 約伯 回答 說： | Then Job answered and said, |
| 2 | 如今 我的哀告 還算為悖逆；我的責罰 比 我的唉哼 還重。 | Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning. |
| 3 | 惟 願 我能知道 在哪裡可以尋見 神，能到 他的臺前， | Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! |
| 4 | 我就在他面前 將我的案件 陳明，滿 口 辯白。 | I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. |
| 5 | 我必知道 他回答 我的言語，明白 他向我 所說 的話。 | I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. |
| 6 | 他豈用大 能 與我 爭辯嗎？必不這樣！他 必 理會 我。 | Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. |
| 7 | 在他那裡 正直人 可以與他 辯論；這樣，我必永遠 脫離 那審判我的。 | There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge. |
| 8 | 只是，我往前 行，他不在那裡，往後退，也不能 見 他。 | Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: |
| 9 | 他在左邊 行事，我卻不能 看見，在右邊 隱藏，我也不能 見他。 | On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: |
| 10 | 然而 他知道 我 所行的路；他試煉我之後，我必 如精金。 | But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. |
| 11 | 我腳 追隨 他的步履；我謹守 他的道，並不 偏離。 | My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. |
| 12 | 他嘴唇 的命令，我未曾 背棄；我看重 他口中 的言語，過於我需用的飲食。 | Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. |
| 13 | 只是他 心志已定，誰 能使他轉意呢？他心裡 所願的，就行出來。 | But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. |
| 14 | 他向我所定的，就必 做成；這類的事 他還有 許多。 | For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him. |
| 15 | 所以 我在他面前 驚惶；我思念 這事便懼怕 他。 | Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him. |
| 16 | 神 使我 喪膽；全能者 使我驚惶。 | For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me: |
| 17 | 我的恐懼 不是 因為 黑暗，也不是因為幽暗 蒙蔽 我的臉。 | Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face. |
