1 當下 彼拉多 將 耶穌 鞭打了。 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 兵丁 用 荊棘 編做 冠冕 戴在 他 頭上， 給他 穿上 紫 袍， And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 又 挨近 他， 說：「恭喜，猶太人 的王啊！」他們就 用手掌 打 他。 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 彼拉多 又 出來 對眾人 說：「 我帶 他 出來 見你們，叫 你們知道 我查 不 出 他 有甚麼罪來。」 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 耶穌 出來，戴著 荊棘 冠冕， 穿著紫 袍。 彼拉多對他們 說：「你們看 這個人！」 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
6 祭司長 和 差役 看見 他，就喊著 說：「釘他十字架！釘他十字架！」彼拉多 說：「你們 自己把 他 釘十字架吧！ 我 查 不 出 他 有甚麼罪來。」 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
7 猶太人 回答 說：「我們 有 律法， 按 那律法，他是該 死的，因 他以 自己為 神 的兒子。」 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8 彼拉多 聽見 這 話，越發 害怕， When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
9 又 進 衙門， 對耶穌 說：「你 是 哪裡來的？」耶穌 卻 不 回答。 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 彼拉多 說：「你不 對我 說話嗎？你豈不 知 我有 權柄 釋放 你，也 有 權柄 把你 釘十字架嗎？」 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 耶穌 回答 說：「若不 是 從上頭 賜給 你的，你就毫無 權柄 辦 我。所以，把我 交給 你 的那人 罪 更重了。」 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
12 從 此，彼拉多 想要 釋放 耶穌，無奈 猶太人 喊著 說：「你若 釋放 這個人，就不 是 凱撒的忠臣（原文是朋友）。凡 以 自己 為王的，就是背叛 凱撒了。」 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Cesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Cesar.
13 彼拉多 聽見 這 話，就帶 耶穌 出來， 到了一個地方，名叫「鋪華石處」， 希伯來話 叫厄巴大，就在 那裡坐 堂。 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 那日是 預備 逾越節的日子， 約 有 午正。 彼拉多對猶太人 說：「看哪，這是你們的 王！」 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
15 他們 喊著說：「除掉他！除掉他！釘他 在十字架上！」彼拉多 說：「我可以把你們的 王 釘十字架嗎？」祭司長 回答說：「除了 凱撒，我們沒 有 王。」 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cesar.
16 於是 彼拉多將耶穌 交給 他們 去 釘十字架。 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17 他們就把耶穌帶了去。 耶穌背著 自己的 十字架 出來，到了 一個地方，名叫「髑髏地」， 希伯來話 叫 各各他。 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 他們就在那裡 釘他 在十字架上，還有 兩個 人和 他一同釘著，一邊一個， 耶穌 在中間。 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19 彼拉多 又 用牌子寫了 一個名號， 安 在 十字架上， 寫的 是：「猶太人 的王，拿撒勒人 耶穌。」 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 有許多 猶太人 念 這 名號；因為 耶穌 被釘十字架 的地方 與城 相近，並且 是 用希伯來、羅馬、希臘 三樣文字寫的。 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
21 猶太人 的祭司長 就 對彼拉多 說：「不要 寫『猶太人 的王』， 要寫『他自己 說：我是 猶太人 的王』。」 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 彼拉多 說：「我所寫 的，我已經寫上了。」 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23 兵丁 既然 將耶穌 釘在十字架上，就拿 他的 衣服 分為 四 分，每 兵 一分；又 拿他的裡衣，這件裡衣 原來 沒有縫兒，是上下一片 織成的。 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 他們就 彼此 說：「我們不要 撕開，只要 拈鬮，看誰 得著。」這 要應驗 經上的話 說：他們 分了 我的 外衣， 為 我的 裡衣 拈 鬮。 兵丁 果然 做了 這事。 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 站在 耶穌 十字架 旁邊的，有他 母親 與 他 母親的 姊妹，並革羅罷 的妻子 馬利亞，和 抹大拉 的馬利亞。 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 耶穌 見 母親 和 他所愛 的那 門徒 站在旁邊，就對他母親 說：「母親（原文是婦人），看，你的 兒子！」 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 又 對那門徒 說：「看，你的 母親！」 從 此，那門徒 就接 她 到 自己家裡去了。 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
28 這事 以後，耶穌 知道 各樣的事 已經 成了，為要 使經上的話 應驗，就說：「我渴了。」 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 有 一個器皿 盛滿了 醋，放在那裡；他們就拿海絨 蘸滿了 醋，綁在 牛膝草上，送到 他 口。 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 耶穌嘗（原文是受）了那醋，就說：「成了！」便 低下 頭，將靈魂 交付 神了。 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 猶太人 因 這日是 預備日，又因 那 安息日 是 個大 日，就求 彼拉多 叫 人打斷 他們的 腿， 把他們拿去，免得 屍首 當 安息日 留在 十字架上。 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 於是 兵丁 來， 把頭一個 人的腿，並 與耶穌 同釘 第二個人的腿，都打斷了。 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 只是 來 到 耶穌那裡，見 他 已經 死了，就不 打斷 他的 腿。 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
34 惟 有一個 兵 拿槍 扎 他的 肋旁，隨即 有血 和 水 流出來。 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 看見 這事的那人就 作見證─ 他的 見證 也是 真的，並且 他 知道 自己所說 的是真的─叫 你們 也 可以信。 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 這些事 成了，為要 應驗 經上的話說：「他的 骨頭一根 也不可 折斷。」 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 經上 又 有一句 說：「他們要仰望 自己所扎的人。」 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 這些事 以後，有亞利馬太人 約瑟，是 耶穌 的門徒， 只因 怕 猶太人，就暗暗地作門徒。他來求 彼拉多，要 把耶穌 的身體 領去。 彼拉多 允准，他就 把耶穌 的身體 領去了。 And after this Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
39 又有 尼哥底母，就是 先前 夜裡 去 見 耶穌的，帶著 沒藥 和 沉香 約有 一百 斤 前來。 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
40 他們就 照 猶太人 殯葬 的規矩，把 耶穌 的身體 用細麻布 加上 香料 裹好了。 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
41 在 耶穌釘十字架 的地方 有 一個園子， 園子 裡 有一座新 墳墓， 是從來沒有 葬過人的。 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
42 只因 是猶太人 的預備日，又因 那墳墓 近，他們就 把耶穌 安放 在那裡。 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
