| 1 | 非利士人 與以色列人 爭戰，以色列 人 在非利士人 面前 逃跑，在基利波 山 有被殺 仆倒的。 | Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa. |
| 2 | 非利士人 緊 追 掃羅 和 他兒子們， 就殺了 掃羅 的兒子 約拿單、 亞比拿達、 麥基舒亞。 | And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi–shua, the sons of Saul. |
| 3 | 勢派 甚大，掃羅 被弓箭 手 追 上， 射 傷甚重， | And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers. |

But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. |

| 13 | 這樣，掃羅 死了。因為 他干犯 耶和華， 沒有 遵守 耶和華 的命；又 因他求 問 交鬼的婦人， | So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; |
