| 1 | 耶和華 曉諭 約書亞 說： | The Lord also spake unto Joshua, saying, |
| 2 | 「你吩咐 以色列 人 說：你們要照著我藉 摩西 所 曉諭 你們的，為自己 設立 逃 城， | Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses: |
| 3 | 使那 無 心 而誤 殺 人的，可以逃 到那裡。這些城可以作 你們 逃避 報 血仇人的地方。 | That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. |
| 4 | 那殺人的要逃 到 這些 城中 的一座城，站 在城 門 口，將 他的事情 說給 城內 的長老 們聽。他們就把他 收 進 城裡，給 他 地方，使他住 在他們中間。 | And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. |
| 5 | 若是 報 血 仇的追了 他來，長老不可 將 他 交 在報血仇的手裡；因為 他是 素 無 仇恨，無 心 殺了 人的。 | And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime. |
| 6 | 他要住 在那 城裡， 站 在會眾 面前 聽審判，等到 那 時 的大 祭司 死了，殺人的 才 可以回 到 本城 本家， 就是他所 逃 出來的那 城。」 | And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled. |

| 8 | 又在約旦河 外 耶利哥 東，從流便 支派中，在曠野 的平原，設立 比悉；從迦得 支派 中設立基列的 拉末；從瑪拿西 支派 中設立巴珊的 哥蘭。 | And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. |
