| 2 | 在米底亞 省亞馬他 城 的宮內 尋得 一 卷，其中 記著 說： | And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written: |
| 3 | 「塞魯士 王 元 年， 他降 旨 論到耶路撒冷 神 的殿，要建造 這殿 為 獻 祭 之處，堅立 殿的根基。殿高 六十 肘，寬 六十 肘， | In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits; |

| 6 | 「現在 河 西 的總督 達乃和示他‧波斯乃，並你們的同黨，就是 住河 西 的亞法薩迦人，你們當 遠 離 他們。 | Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shethar–boznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence: |
| 7 | 不要攔阻 神 殿 的工作，任憑猶大人 的省長 和猶大人 的長老 在 原處 建造 神 的這 殿。 | Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place. |
| 8 | 我 又降 旨，吩咐你們向 猶大人 的長老 為建造 神 的殿 當怎樣 行，就是從河 西 的 款項中，急速 撥 取 貢 銀 作他們 的經費， 免得 耽誤工作。 | Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered. |
| 9 | 他們與天上的 神 獻燔祭 所 需用的 公牛 犢、公綿羊、綿羊羔，並所用的麥子、鹽、酒、油，都要照 耶路撒冷 祭司 的話， 每 日 供給 他們， 不得 有誤； | And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail: |
| 10 | 好叫 他們獻 馨香的祭 給天上的 神，又為王 和王眾子 的壽命 祈禱。 | That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons. |
| 11 | 我再 降 旨，無論 誰 更改 這 命令，必從 他房屋 中拆出 一根樑來，把他舉起，懸 在其上，又使 他的房屋 成為糞堆。 | Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this. |
| 12 | 若有 王 和民 伸 手 更改這命令，拆毀 這 殿，願那 使耶路撒冷 的殿作為他 名 居所 的 神 將他們滅絕。我─大流士 降 這旨意，當速速 遵行。」 | And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed. |
| 13 | 於是，河 西 總督 達乃和示他‧波斯乃，並他們的同黨，因 大流士 王 所 發的命令，就 急速 遵行。 | Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shethar–boznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily. |
| 14 | 猶大 長老 因先知 哈該 和易多 的孫子 撒迦利亞 所說勸勉的話 就建造這殿，凡事亨通。他們遵著 以色列 神 的命令 和波斯 王 塞魯士、大流士、亞達薛西 的旨意，建造 完畢。 | And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. |
| 15 | 大流士 王 第六 年，亞達 月 初三 日，這 殿 修成了。 | And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king. |
| 16 | 以色列 的祭司 和利未人，並其餘 被擄歸回 的人 都歡歡喜喜地 行 奉獻 神 殿的禮。 | And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy, |
| 17 | 行奉獻 神 殿 的禮就獻 公牛 一百隻，公綿羊 二百隻，綿羊羔 四百隻，又照以色列 支派 的數目 獻公 山羊 十二隻，為 以色列 眾人 作贖罪祭； | And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel. |
| 18 | 且派 祭司 和利未人 按著班次 在耶路撒冷 事奉 神，是照摩西 律法書 上所寫的。 | And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses. |
| 19 | 正 月 十 四日，被擄歸回 的人 守 逾越節。 | And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month. |
| 20 | 原來，祭司 和利未人 一同 自潔，無一人不 潔淨。利未人為被擄歸回 的眾 人 和他們的弟兄 眾祭司，並為自己 宰 逾越節的羊羔。 | For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves. |
| 21 | 從擄到之地 歸回 的以色列 人 和一切 除掉 所染 外邦人 污穢、歸附他們、要尋求 耶和華─以色列 神 的人都吃這羊羔， | And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the Lord God of Israel, did eat, |
| 22 | 歡歡喜喜地 守 除酵 節 七 日；因為 耶和華 使他們歡喜，又使亞述 王 的心 轉 向他們，堅固 他們的手，作以色列 神 殿 的工程。 | And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the Lord had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel. |
