| 2 | 在朝 門 的 一切 臣僕 都跪 拜 哈曼，因為 王 如此 吩咐；惟獨末底改 不 跪 不 拜。 | And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence. |
| 3 | 在朝 門 的 臣僕 問末底改 說：「你 為何 違背 王 的命令呢？」 | Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment? |

| 6 | 他們已將 末底改 的本族 告訴 哈曼；他以為 下 手 害末底改 一人 是小事， 就要 滅絕 亞哈隨魯 王通 國 所有的 猶大人，就是 末底改 的本族。 | And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai. |
| 7 | 亞哈隨魯 王 十 二 年 正 月，就是 尼散 月，人在哈曼 面前，按日 日 月 月 掣 普珥，就是 掣籤，要定何月何日為吉，擇定了十 二月，就是 亞達 月。 | In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar. |
| 8 | 哈曼 對亞哈隨魯 王 說：「有 一種 民 散 居 在 王國 各 省 的民中；他們的律例 與萬 民 的律例不同，也不 守 王的 律例，所以容留他們 與王 無 益。 | And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them. |
| 9 | 王 若 以為美，請下旨意 滅絕他們；我就捐 一萬 他連得 銀子 交給 掌管 國帑的人，納 入 王 的府庫。」 | If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s treasuries. |
| 10 | 於是王 從 自己手上 摘下 戒指 給 猶大人 的仇敵─亞甲族 哈米大他 的兒子 哈曼。 | And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy. |
| 11 | 王 對哈曼 說：「這銀子 仍賜 給你，這民也交給你，你可以隨 意 待 他們。」 | And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee. |
| 12 | 正 月 十 三 日，就召 了王 的書記來，照著哈曼 一切 所 吩咐的， 用 各 省 的文字、各 族 的方言，奉亞哈隨魯 王 的名 寫旨意，傳與 總督 和 各省 的省長，並 各 族 的首領；又用王 的戒指 蓋印， | Then were the king’s scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king’s ring. |
| 13 | 交給 驛卒 傳 到 王 的各 省，吩咐將 猶大人，無論 老 少 婦女 孩子，在一 日之間，十 二 月，就是 亞達 月 十 三日，全然剪除，殺戮 滅絕，並奪他們的財 為掠物。 | And the letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. |
| 14 | 抄錄 這旨意，頒行 各 省，宣告 各 族，使他們 預備 等候那 日。 | The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day. |
| 15 | 驛卒 奉王 命 急忙 起行，旨意 也傳遍 書珊 城。王 同哈曼 坐下 飲酒，書珊 城 的民卻都慌亂。 | The posts went out, being hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed. |
