| 1 | 耶和華 的話 又臨 到我 說： | The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying, |
| 2 | 「你們 在 以色列 地 怎麼 用 這 俗語 說『父親 吃了 酸葡萄，兒子 的牙 酸倒了』呢？」 | What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge? |
| 3 | 主 耶和華 說：「我 指著我的永生起誓，你們 在以色列中，必不 再 有用 這 俗語的因由。 | As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. |
| 4 | 看哪，世人 都 是 屬我的；為父 的怎樣屬我，為子 的也照樣 屬我；犯罪 的，他 必死亡。 | Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. |
| 5 | 「人 若 是 公義，且行 正直 與合理的事： | But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, |
| 6 | 未曾 在 山 上吃過祭偶像之物， 未曾 仰望 以色列 家 的偶像，未曾 玷污 鄰舍 的妻，未曾 在婦人 的經期 內親近她， | And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman, |
| 7 | 未曾 虧負 人，乃將欠債之人 的當頭 還給他；未曾 搶奪人的物件，卻將食物 給 飢餓的人吃，將衣服 給赤身 的人穿； | And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; |
| 8 | 未曾 向借錢的弟兄取 利，也未曾 向借糧的弟兄多 要，縮 手 不作罪孽，在兩人 之間，按至理 判斷； | He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, |
| 9 | 遵行 我的律例，謹守 我的典章，按誠實 行事─這人 是公義的，必定 存活。這是主 耶和華 說的。 | Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord God. |
| 10 | 「他若生 一個兒子，作強盜，是流 人血的， 不 行 以上所 說之善，反行 其 中之惡，乃 在 山 上吃過祭偶像之物，並玷污 鄰舍 的妻， | If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, |

| 13 | 向借錢的弟兄取 利，向借糧的弟兄多 要─這人豈能存活呢？他必不能 存活。他行 這 一切 可憎的事，必要 死亡，他的罪（原文是血）必歸 到他身上。 | Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. |
| 14 | 「他若 生 一個兒子，見 父親 所 犯 的一切 罪便懼怕（有古卷：思量），不 照樣 去做； | Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, |

| 17 | 縮 手 不害貧窮人，未曾 向借錢的弟兄取 利，也未曾 向借糧的弟兄多要；他順從 我的典章，遵行 我的律例， 就不 因父親 的罪孽 死亡，定要 存活。 | That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. |
| 18 | 至於他父親；因為 欺人 太甚，搶 奪 弟兄， 在本國的民 中 行 不 善， 他必因自己的罪孽 死亡。 | As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. |
| 19 | 「你們還說：『兒子 為何 不 擔當 父親 的罪孽呢？』兒子 行 正直 與合理的事，謹守 遵行 我的一切 律例，他必定 存活。 | Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. |
| 20 | 惟有犯罪 的，他 必死亡。兒子 必不 擔當 父親 的罪孽，父親 也不 擔當 兒子 的罪孽。義人 的善果 必 歸自己，惡人 的惡報 也必 歸自己。 | The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. |
| 21 | 「惡人 若 回頭 離開所 做 的一切 罪惡，謹守 我一切 的律例，行 正直 與合理的事，他必定 存活，不致 死亡。 | But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
| 22 | 他所 犯 的一切 罪過 都不 被記念，因所 行 的義，他必存活。 | All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. |
| 23 | 主 耶和華 說：惡人 死亡，豈是我喜悅的嗎？不是 喜悅 他回頭 離開所行的道 存活嗎？ | Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? |
| 24 | 義人 若轉 離義行 而作 罪孽，照著惡人 所 行 一切 可憎的事 而行，他豈能存活嗎？他所 行 的一切 義 都不 被記念；他必因所 犯 的罪、所 行 的惡 死亡。 | But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. |
| 25 | 「你們還說：『主 的道 不 公平！』以色列 家啊，你們當 聽，我的道 豈不 公平嗎？你們的道 豈不是 不 公平嗎？ | Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? |
| 26 | 義人 若轉 離義行 而作 罪孽 死亡，他是因所 作 的罪孽 死亡。 | When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. |
| 27 | 再者，惡人 若回頭 離開所 行 的惡，行 正直 與合理的事，他 必將 性命 救活了。 | Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. |
| 28 | 因為他思量，回頭 離開所 犯 的一切 罪過，必定 存活，不致 死亡。 | Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
| 29 | 以色列 家 還說：『主 的道 不 公平！』以色列 家啊，我的道 豈不 公平嗎？你們的道 豈不是 不 公平嗎？」 | Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? |
| 30 | 所以 主 耶和華 說：「以色列 家啊，我必按你們各人 所行的 審判 你們。你們當回頭 離開 所犯的一切 罪過。這樣，罪孽 必不 使 你們 敗亡。 | Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. |
| 31 | 你們要將 所 犯 的一切 罪過 盡行拋棄，自 做 一個新 心 和新 靈。以色列 家啊，你們何必 死亡呢？ | Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? |
| 32 | 主 耶和華 說： 我不 喜悅 那死 人之死，所以你們當回頭 而存活。」 | For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. |
