| 2 | 米甸人 壓制 以色列人；以色列 人 因為 米甸人，就 在山中 挖 穴、挖 洞、建造 營寨。 | And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds. |

| 9 | 救 你們 脫離埃及人 的手，並脫離一切 欺壓你們之人 的手，把他們 從你們面前 趕出，將 他們的地 賜 給你們』； | And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land; |

| 13 | 基甸 說：「 主啊，耶和華 若與我們同在，我們何致 遭遇 這 一切事呢？我們的列祖 不是 向我們 說『耶和華 領我們 從埃及上來』嗎？他那樣 奇妙的作為 在哪裡呢？現在 他 卻丟棄我們，將我們交 在米甸人 手裡。」 | And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. |
| 14 | 耶和華 觀看 基甸，說：「你靠著你這 能力 去 從米甸人 手裡 拯救 以色列人，不是 我差遣你去的嗎？」 | And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? |

| 16 | 耶和華 對他 說：「 我與你 同在，你就必擊打 米甸人，如擊打一 人一樣。」 | And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man. |
| 17 | 基甸說：「我若 在你眼前 蒙 恩，求 你給 我 一個證據，使我知道與我 說話 的就是主。 | And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me. |
| 18 | 求 你不要 離開 這裡，等 我歸 回 將 禮物 帶來 供 在你面前。」主說：「我必 等 你回來。」 | Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again. |
| 19 | 基甸 去 預備了 一隻山羊 羔，用一伊法 細麵 做了無酵餅，將肉 放 在筐內，把湯 盛 在壺中，帶 到 橡樹 下，獻在使者面前。 | And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it. |
| 20 | 神 的使者 吩咐基甸 說：「 將 肉 和 無酵餅 放 在 這 磐石上，把 湯 倒出來。」他就這樣 行了。 | And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so. |
| 21 | 耶和華 的使者 伸出 手內 的 杖，杖頭 挨了 肉 和無酵餅，就有火 從 磐石 中出來，燒盡了 肉 和 無酵餅。耶和華 的使者 也就不見了。 | Then the angel of the Lord put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the Lord departed out of his sight. |
| 22 | 基甸 見 他是 耶和華 的使者， 就說：「哀哉！主 耶和華啊，我不好了，因為 我覿 面 看見 耶和華 的使者。」 | And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the Lord, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord God! for because I have seen an angel of the Lord face to face. |
| 23 | 耶和華 對他 說：「你 放心，不要 懼怕，你必不 致死。」 | And the Lord said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die. |
| 24 | 於是基甸 在那裡 為耶和華 築了 一座壇，起名 叫「耶和華沙龍」（就是耶和華賜平安的意思）。（這壇在 亞比以謝族 的俄弗拉 直到 如 今。） | Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovah–shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi–ezrites. |
| 25 | 當那 夜，耶和華 吩咐基甸 說：「你取 你父親 的 牛來，就是（或譯：和）那七 歲 的第二 隻牛，並拆毀 你父親 為巴力 所 築的壇，砍下 壇 旁 的木偶， | And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: |
| 26 | 在 這磐石（原文是保障）上 整整齊齊地 為耶和華─你的 神 築 一座壇， 將 第二隻 牛 獻 為燔祭，用你所 砍下 的木偶 作柴。」 | And build an altar unto the Lord thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down. |
| 27 | 基甸 就從他僕人 中挑了 十個 人，照著 耶和華 吩咐 他的 行了。 他因 怕 父 家 和 本城 的人，不敢在白晝 行這事，就在夜間 行了。 | Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the Lord had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father’s household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night. |
| 28 | 城 裡的人 清早 起來，見 巴力 的壇 拆毀，壇旁的 木偶 砍下， 第二隻 牛 獻 在 新築 的壇上， | And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built. |
| 29 | 就彼此 說：「這 事 是誰 做的呢？」他們訪 查之後，就說：「這是 約阿施 的兒子 基甸 做的。」 | And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing. |
| 30 | 城 裡的人 對 約阿施 說：「將 你兒子 交出來，好治死他；因為 他拆毀了 巴力 的壇， 砍下 壇旁的 木偶。」 | Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it. |
| 31 | 約阿施 回答站著 攻擊他 的 眾人 說：「你們 是為巴力 爭論嗎？你們 要 救 他嗎？誰 為他 爭論，趁 早 將誰治死！巴力若果 是 神， 有人拆毀 他的壇，讓他為自己 爭論吧！」 | And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar. |
| 32 | 所以當 日 人稱 基甸為耶路‧巴力，意思說：「 他拆毀 巴力的壇，讓巴力 與他 爭論。」 | Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar. |
| 33 | 那時， 米甸人、亞瑪力人，和東方 人 都 聚集 過河，在耶斯列 平原 安營。 | Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel. |
| 34 | 耶和華 的靈 降 在 基甸身上，他就吹 角；亞比以謝族 都聚集 跟隨他。 | But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi–ezer was gathered after him. |
| 35 | 他打發 人 走遍 瑪拿西地，瑪拿西人 也 聚集 跟隨他；又打發 人 去見亞設人、西布倫人、拿弗他利人，他們也都出來 與他們會合。 | And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them. |
| 36 | 基甸 對 神 說：「你 若 果照著所 說的話，藉我手 拯救 以色列人， | And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, |
| 37 | 我 就把 一團 羊毛 放 在禾場上：若 單是 羊毛上 有 露水， 別的地方 都 是乾的，我就知道 你必 照著所 說的話，藉我手 拯救 以色列人。」 | Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. |
| 38 | 次日 早晨基甸起來，見果然是 這樣；將 羊毛 擠一擠，從 羊毛 中擰出 滿 盆 的露 水來。 | And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water. |
| 39 | 基甸 又對 神 說：「求你不要 向我 發 怒，我再 說 這一次： 讓我將羊毛 再試 一 次。但願 羊毛 是 乾的， 別的地方 都 有 露水。」 | And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew. |
| 40 | 這 夜 神 也如此 行：獨 羊毛 上是 乾的， 別的地方 都 有 露水。 | And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground. |
