| 2 | 陀拉作 以色列 的士師 二十 三 年，就死了，葬 在沙密。 | And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir. |
| 3 | 在他以後 有基列人 睚珥 興起，作 以色列 的士師 二十 二 年。 | And after him arose Jair, a Gileadite, and judged Israel twenty and two years. |
| 4 | 他有 三十 個兒子，騎 著 三十 匹驢駒。他們有 三十 座城邑，叫作哈倭特‧睚珥，直到 如 今，都是 在基列 地。 | And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havoth–jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead. |

| 6 | 以色列 人 又 行 耶和華 眼中 看為惡的事，去事奉 諸巴力 和 亞斯她錄，並 亞蘭 的神、 西頓 的神、 摩押 的神、 亞捫 人 的神、 非利士人 的神，離棄 耶和華，不 事奉他。 | And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the Lord, and served not him. |
| 7 | 耶和華 的怒氣 向以色列人 發作，就把他們交 在非利士人 和亞捫 人 的手中。 | And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon. |
| 8 | 從那 年起，他們擾害 欺壓 約旦河 那邊、住亞摩利人 之 基列 地 的 以色列 人，共有十 八 年。 | And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead. |
| 9 | 亞捫 人 又渡過 約旦河 去攻打 猶大 和便雅憫，並以法蓮 族。以色列人 就甚 覺窘迫。 | Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed. |

| 11 | 耶和華 對 以色列 人 說：「我豈沒有 救過你們脫離埃及人、 亞摩利人、 亞捫 人，和 非利士人嗎？ | And the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines? |
| 12 | 西頓人、亞瑪力人、馬雲人 也都欺壓 你們；你們哀求 我，我也拯救 你們 脫離他們的手。 | The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand. |
| 13 | 你們 竟離棄 我，事奉 別 神！所以 我不 再 救 你們了。 | Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more. |
| 14 | 你們去 哀求 所 選擇 的神；你們遭遇急難 的時候，讓他 救 你們吧！」 | Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation. |
| 15 | 以色列 人 對 耶和華 說：「我們犯罪了，任憑你 隨 意 待 我們吧！只 求 你今 日 拯救我們。」 | And the children of Israel said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day. |
| 16 | 以色列人就除掉 他們中間 的外邦 神，事奉 耶和華。耶和華因以色列人 受的苦難，就心 中擔憂。 | And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the Lord: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel. |
| 17 | 當時亞捫 人 聚集，安營 在基列。以色列 人 也聚集，安營 在米斯巴。 | Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh. |
| 18 | 基列 的民 和眾首領 彼此 商議說：「誰 能先 去攻打 亞捫 人，誰必作 基列 一切 居民 的領袖。」 | And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. |
