| 1 | 非利士人 與以色列人 爭戰。以色列 人 在非利士人 面前 逃跑，在 基利波 有被殺 仆倒的。 | Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa. |
| 2 | 非利士人 緊追 掃羅 和 他兒子們， 就殺了 掃羅 的兒子 約拿單、 亞比拿達、 麥基舒亞。 | And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi–shua, Saul’s sons. |
| 3 | 勢派 甚大， 掃羅 被弓箭 手 追上，射傷 甚重， | And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was sore wounded of the archers. |
| 4 | 就吩咐 拿 他兵器的人說：「你拔出 刀來，將我刺死，免得 那些 未受割禮的人 來 刺我，凌辱 我。」但拿 兵器的人 甚 懼怕，不 肯刺他；掃羅 就自己 伏 在 刀上死了。 | Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. |

| 12 | 他們中間所有的 勇 士 就起身，走了 一 夜，將 掃羅 和 他兒子 的屍身從伯‧珊 城牆上 取下來，送到 雅比 那裡，用火燒了； | All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth–shan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there. |
| 13 | 將 他們骸骨 葬 在雅比 的垂絲柳樹 下，就禁食 七 日。 | And they took their bones, and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days. |
