| 1 | 非利士人 將 他們的軍旅 聚 到亞弗；以色列人 在耶斯列 的 泉 旁安營。 | Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel. |
| 2 | 非利士人 的首領各率軍隊，或百 或千，挨次前進；大衛 和跟隨他的人 同著 亞吉 跟 在後邊。 | And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands: but David and his men passed on in the rereward with Achish. |
| 3 | 非利士人 的首領 說：「這些 希伯來人 在這裡做甚麼呢？」亞吉 對 他們 說：「這 不是 以色列 王 掃羅 的臣子 大衛嗎？他 在 我這裡 有些 年 日了。自從 他投降 我直到 今 日，我未 曾見 他 有過錯。」 | Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day? |
| 4 | 非利士人 的首領 向亞吉 發怒， 對他 說：「你要 叫 這人 回 你所 安置他的 地方，不可 叫他同我們 出 戰，恐怕 他在陣上 反為 我們的 敵人。他 用甚麼 與 他主人 復和呢？豈不是 用我們這些 人 的首級嗎？ | And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men? |
| 5 | 從前以色列的婦女跳舞 唱和 說：『掃羅 殺死 千千，大衛 殺死萬萬』，所 說的 不是 這個 大衛嗎？」 | Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands? |
| 6 | 亞吉 叫 大衛來，對他 說：「我指著永生 的耶和華起誓， 你是 正直人。你隨我 在軍中 出 入，我看 你甚好。自從 你投奔 我 到 如 今，我未 曾見 你 有甚麼過失；只是眾首領 不 喜悅 你。 | Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the Lord liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not. |
| 7 | 現在 你可以平平安安地 回 去，免得非利士人 的首領 不 歡喜你。」 | Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines. |
| 8 | 大衛 對 亞吉 說：「 我做了 甚麼呢？自從 僕人 到 你面前，直到 今 日，你查出 我 有甚麼過錯， 使我不 去 攻擊 主─我王 的仇敵呢？」 | And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king? |
| 9 | 亞吉 說：「我知道 你 在我眼前 是好人，如同 神 的使者一般；只是 非利士人 的首領 說：『這人不可 同我們 出 戰。』 | And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. |
| 10 | 故此 你和跟隨 你的人，就是 你本主 的僕人，要明日早晨 起來，等到天 亮 回去吧！」 | Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master’s servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart. |
| 11 | 於是大衛和 跟隨他的人 早晨 起來，回 往 非利士 地 去。非利士人 也上 耶斯列去了。 | So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel. |
