1 有幾個人 從 猶太 下來，教訓 弟兄們說：「 你們若不 按摩西 的規條 受割禮，不 能 得救。」 And certain men which came down from Judea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2 保羅、 巴拿巴 與 他們 大大地 紛爭 辯論；眾門徒就定規，叫保羅、 巴拿巴 和 本會 中 幾個人，為 所辯論的，上 耶路撒冷 去見 使徒 和 長老。 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3 於是 教會 送他們起行。他們經過 腓尼基、 撒馬利亞，隨處傳說 外邦人 歸主的事， 叫 眾 弟兄 都甚 歡喜。 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4 到了 耶路撒冷， 教會 和 使徒 並 長老 都接待他們，他們就 述說 神 同 他們 所行 的一切事。 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5 惟有幾個 信徒，是法利賽 教門的人，起來 說：「 必須 給外邦人行割禮， 吩咐 他們 遵守 摩西的 律法。」 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6 使徒 和 長老 聚會 商議 這 事； And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
7 辯論 已經多了，彼得 就起來， 說：「諸位 弟兄，你們 知道 神 早已 在 你們 中間揀選了我，叫外邦人 從 我 口 中得聽 福音 之道，而且 相信。 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 知道人心的 神 也 為他們作了見證，賜 聖 靈 給他們，正如 給我們 一樣； And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 又 藉著信 潔淨 了他們 的心，並不 分 他們 我們。 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 現在 為甚麼 試探 神，要把 我們 祖宗 和我們 所不 能 負 的軛 放 在 門徒 的頸項上呢？ Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 我們得救 乃是 因 主 耶穌 的恩，和他們 一樣，這是我們所信的。」 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
12 眾 人 都默默無聲， 聽 巴拿巴 和 保羅 述說 神 藉 他們 在 外邦人 中所行 的 神蹟 奇事。 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13 他們 住了聲，雅各 就 說：「諸位 弟兄，請聽 我的話。 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
14 方才西門 述說 神 當初 怎樣 眷顧外邦人，從 他們 中間選取 百姓 歸於自己 的名下； Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
15 眾先知 的話 也 與這 意思相合。 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 正如 經上所寫的：此後，我要回來， 重新修造 大衛 倒塌 的帳幕， 把那破壞 的重新修造 建立起來， After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17 叫 餘剩的 人，就是 凡 稱為 我 名 下 的外邦人，都尋求 主。 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18 這話是從 創世 以來 顯明 這 事的主 說的。 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
19 「所以 據我 的意見，不可 難為 那 歸服 神 的 外邦人； Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 只要 寫信，吩咐他們 禁戒 偶像 的污穢 和 姦淫，並 勒死的 牲畜和 血。 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21 因為 從 古以來，摩西 的書在各 城 有 人傳講，每逢 安息日，在 會堂 裡誦讀。」 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
22 那時，使徒 和 長老 並 全 教會 定意 從 他們 中間揀選 人，差 他們和 保羅、 巴拿巴 同往 安提阿去；所揀選的就是稱呼 巴撒巴 的猶大 和 西拉。這兩個人在 弟兄 中是作首領的。 Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
23 於是寫信 交付 他們，內中說：「使徒 和 作長老 的弟兄 們問 安提阿、 敘利亞、 基利家 外邦 眾弟兄的安。 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
24 我們聽說， 有幾個 人從 我們 這裡出去，用言語 攪擾 你們，惑亂 你們的 心。（有古卷加：你們必須受割禮，守摩西的律法。）其實我們並沒有 吩咐 他們。 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
25 所以，我們 同心 定意，揀選 幾個人，差 他們同 我們 所親愛的 巴拿巴 和 保羅 往 你們那裡去。 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 這二人 是為 我 主 耶穌 基督 的名 不顧 性命的。 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 我們就差了 猶大 和 西拉，他們 也 要親口 訴說 這些事。 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
28 因為 聖 靈 和 我們 定意 不 將別的 重擔 放 在你們身上，惟有 幾件事 是不可少的， For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 就是禁戒 祭偶像的物 和 血，並 勒死的 牲畜和 姦淫。這幾件你們若能自己 禁戒 不犯 就 好了。願你們平安！」 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
30 他們既奉了差遣，就下 安提阿去， 聚集 眾人，交付 書信。 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
31 眾人念了，因為 信上安慰 的話就歡喜了。 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
32 猶大 和 西拉 也 是 先知，就用 許多 話 勸勉 弟兄， 堅固他們。 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
33 住 了些日子， 弟兄 們打發 他們平平安安地 回到 差遣 他們的人那裡去。（有古卷加： And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
34 惟有 西拉 定意 仍住 在那裡。） Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
35 但 保羅 和 巴拿巴 仍住 在 安提阿， 和 許多 別人 一同教訓人， 傳 主 的道。 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36 過了 些 日子，保羅 對 巴拿巴 說：「我們可以 回到 從前宣傳 主 道 的 各 城，看望 弟兄 們景況 如何。」 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37 巴拿巴 有意 要帶 稱呼 馬可 的約翰同去； And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
38 但 保羅 因為馬可 從前在 旁非利亞 離開 他們， 不 和他們 同去 做工，就以為 不可 帶 他去。 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39 於是 二人 起了 爭論，甚至 彼此 分開。 巴拿巴 帶著 馬可，坐船 往 塞浦路斯去； And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
40 保羅 揀選 了西拉，也出去，蒙 弟兄 們把他交 於主 的恩中。 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
41 他就 走遍 敘利亞、 基利家，堅固 眾教會。 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
