| 2 | 願恩惠、 平安 從 神 我們的 父 並 主 耶穌 基督 歸與你們！ | Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 3 | 我每 逢 想念 你們，就感謝 我的 神； | I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, |
| 4 | 每 逢 為 你們 眾人 祈求的時候，常 是 歡歡喜喜地 祈求。 | Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, |
| 5 | 因為 從 頭一 天 直到 如今，你們 是同心合意地 興旺 福音。 | For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; |
| 6 | 我深信 那 在你們 心裡 動了 善 工的，必成全這工，直到 耶穌 基督 的日子。 | Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: |
| 7 | 我 為 你們 眾人 有這樣 的意念，原 是 應當的；因 你們 常在 我 心 裡，無論 我 是在捆鎖 之中， 是辯明 證實 福音 的時候，你們 都 與我 一同得 恩。 | Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. |
| 8 | 我體會 基督 耶穌 的心腸，切切地 想念 你們 眾人；這是 神 可以給我 作見證的。 | For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. |
| 9 | 我所禱告的，就是 要你們的 愛心 在 知識 和 各樣 見識 上多 而 又 多， | And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; |
| 10 | 使你們 能分別是非（或譯：喜愛那美好的事）， 作 誠實 無過的人，直到 基督 的日子； | That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; |
| 11 | 並靠著 耶穌 基督 結滿了 仁義的 果子，叫榮耀 稱讚 歸與 神。 | Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. |
| 12 | 弟兄們，我願意 你們 知道，我 所 遭遇 的事更是 叫 福音 興旺， | But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; |
| 13 | 以致 我 受的捆鎖 在御營 全 軍和 其餘的 人中，已經顯明 是 為 基督的緣故。 | So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; |
| 14 | 並且 那在主 裡 的 弟兄 多半因我受的 捆鎖 就篤信不疑，越發 放膽 傳 神的道，無所懼怕。 | And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. |
| 15 | 有的 傳 基督 是 出於 嫉妒 紛爭， 也 有的 是出於 好意。 | Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: |
| 16 | 這一等 是出於 愛心，知道 我是為 辯明 福音 設立的； | The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: |
| 17 | 那一等傳 基督 是出於 結黨，並不 誠實，意思 要加增 我 捆鎖的 苦楚。 | But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. |
| 18 | 這有 何妨呢？或是 假意，或是 真心，無論 怎樣，基督 究竟被傳開了。 為 此，我就歡喜，並且 還要 歡喜； | What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. |
| 19 | 因為 我知道，這事 藉著 你們的 祈禱 和 耶穌 基督 之靈 的幫助，終必叫 我 得救。 | For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, |
| 20 | 照著 我 所切慕、 所盼望的， 沒有一事 叫我羞愧。只要 凡事 放膽，無論 是生 是 死， 總叫 基督 在 我 身上 照常顯大。 | According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. |
| 21 | 因 我 活著 就是基督， 我死了 就有益處。 | For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. |
| 22 | 但 我在 肉身 活著，若成就 我工夫 的果子， 我就不 知道 該挑選 甚麼。 | But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. |
| 23 | 我正在 兩 難之間，情願 離世 與 基督 同在，因為 這是好 得無比的。 | For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: |
| 24 | 然而，我在 肉身活著，為 你們 更是要緊的。 | Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. |
| 25 | 我既然這樣 深信，就知道 仍要住在世間，且 與你們 眾人 同住，使 你們在所信 的 道上又長進 又 喜樂， | And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; |
| 26 | 叫 你們在 基督 耶穌 裡的 歡樂，因 我 再 到 你們那裡去，就越發加增。 | That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. |
| 27 | 只要 你們行事為人與 基督 的福音 相稱，叫 我或 來 見 你們，或 不在你們那裡，可以聽見 你們的 景況， 知道你們同有 一個 心志，站立得穩，為所信 的福音 齊心努力。 | Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; |
| 28 | 凡事不 怕 敵人 的驚嚇，這 是 證明 他們 沉淪， 你們 得救 都是 出於 神。 | And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. |
| 29 | 因為 你們 蒙恩，不 但 得以信服 基督， 並要 為 他 受苦。 | For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; |
| 30 | 你們 的 爭戰，就與你們在 我 身上從前所看見、 現在 所聽見的一樣。 | Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me. |
