1 利未 的曾孫、哥轄 的孫子、以斯哈 的兒子 可拉，和流便 子孫 中以利押 的兒子 大坍、亞比蘭，與比勒 的兒子 安， Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
2 並 以色列 會 中的二百 五十個 首領，就是有名望 選入 會中 的人，在摩西 面前 一同起來， And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
3 聚集 攻擊 摩西、 亞倫，說：「你們 擅自專權！ 全 會眾 個個 既是聖潔，耶和華 也在他們中間，你們為甚麼 自高，超過 耶和華 的會眾呢？」 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?
4 摩西 聽見 這話就俯伏 在 地， And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
5 對 可拉 和 他一 黨 的人說：「到了早晨，耶和華 必指示 誰 是屬他的， 誰是聖潔的，就叫誰親近 他； 他所 揀選的 是誰，必叫誰親近 他。 And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the Lord will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
6 可拉啊，你們要這樣 行，你和你的一 黨 要拿 香爐來。 This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
7 明日，在耶和華 面前，把火 盛 在爐中，把香 放 在其上。耶和華 揀選 誰，誰 就 為 聖潔。你們 這利未 的子孫 擅自專權了！」 And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the Lord to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the Lord doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
8 摩西 又對 可拉 說：「利未 的子孫哪， 你們聽我說！ And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:
9 以色列的 神 從以色列 會中 將你們 分別出來，使你們 親近 他，辦 耶和華 帳幕 的事，並站 在會眾 面前 替他們當差。 Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
10 耶和華又使你 和 你一切 弟兄─利未 的子孫─一同 親近他，這豈為小事？你們還 要求 祭司的職任嗎？ And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
11 你 和你一 黨 的人聚集 是要攻擊 耶和華。亞倫 算甚麼，你們竟 向他 發怨言呢？」 For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the Lord: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?
12 摩西 打發 人去召 以利押 的兒子 大坍、亞比蘭。他們說：「我們不 上去！ And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
13 你將我們從流 奶 與蜜 之地 領上來，要在曠野 殺我們，這豈為 小事？ 你還要 自立 為王 轄管我們嗎？ Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
14 並且 你沒有 將我們領 到 流 奶 與蜜 之地，也沒有把田地 和葡萄園 給 我們 為業。難道你要剜 這些 人 的眼睛嗎？我們不 上去！」 Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
15 摩西 就甚 發怒，對 耶和華 說：「求你不要 享受 他們 的供物。我並沒有 奪過 他們一匹 驢，也沒有 害過 他們 一個人。」 And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the Lord, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.
16 摩西 對 可拉 說：「明天，你 和你一 黨的人， 並亞倫，都要 站在耶和華 面前； And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the Lord, thou, and they, and Aaron, to morrow:
17 各人 要拿 一個香爐， 共二百 五十 個，把香 放 在上面，到 耶和華 面前。你 和亞倫 也各 拿自己的香爐。」 And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the Lord every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each of you his censer.
18 於是他們各人 拿 一個香爐，盛 上 火，加 上 香，同摩西、亞倫 站 在會 幕 門前。 And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.
19 可拉 招聚 全 會眾 到 會 幕 門前，要攻擊摩西、亞倫；耶和華 的榮光 就向 全 會眾 顯現。 And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the congregation.
20 耶和華 曉諭 摩西、 亞倫 說： And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
21 「你們離開 這 會眾，我好在轉眼之間 把他們 滅絕。」 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
22 摩西、亞倫就俯伏 在 地，說：「 神，萬 人 之靈的 神啊，一 人 犯罪，你就要向 全 會眾 發怒嗎？」 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
23 耶和華 曉諭 摩西 說： And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24 「你吩咐 會眾 說：『你們離開 可拉、大坍、亞比蘭 帳棚 的四圍。』」 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
25 摩西 起來，往 大坍、亞比蘭 那裡去；以色列 的長老 也隨著他 去。 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
26 他吩咐 會眾 說：「 你們離開 這 惡 人 的帳棚吧，他們 的物件，甚麼都 不可 摸，恐怕 你們陷在 他們的罪中，與他們一同消滅。」 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
27 於是眾人離開 可拉、大坍、亞比蘭 帳棚 的四圍。大坍、亞比蘭 帶著妻子、兒女、小孩子，都出來，站 在自己的帳棚 門口。 So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
28 摩西 說：「我行的 這 一切 事 本 不是 憑我自己心意行的，乃是 耶和華 打發我行的，必有證據使 你們知道。 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 這些人 死 若 與世 人 無異，或是他們所遭的 與世 人 相同，就不是 耶和華 打發我來的。 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the Lord hath not sent me.
30 倘若 耶和華 創作 一件新事，使地 開 口，把他們 和 一切 屬他們的 都吞下去，叫他們活活地 墜落 陰間，你們就明白 這些 人 是藐視 耶和華了。」 But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord.
31 摩西剛 說 完了 這 一切 話，他們腳下 的 地 就開了口， And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 把他們 和 他們的家眷，並 一切 屬可拉 的人丁、 財物，都 吞下去。 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 這樣，他們 和一切 屬他們的，都活活地 墜落 陰間；地 口在他們上頭 照舊合閉，他們就從會 中 滅亡。 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
34 在他們四圍 的以色列 眾人 聽他們呼號，就都逃跑， 說：「恐怕 地 也把我們吞下去。」 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
35 又有火 從 耶和華 那裡出來，燒滅了 那獻 香 的二百 五十 個人。 And there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
36 耶和華 曉諭 摩西 說： And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
37 「你吩咐 祭司 亞倫 的兒子 以利亞撒 從火 中 撿起 那些香爐來，把 火 撒 在別處，因為 那些香爐是聖的。 Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.
38 把 那些 犯罪、自害己命 之人的香爐，叫人錘 成 片子，用以包 壇。那些香爐本是 他們在耶和華 面前 獻過的，所以是聖的，並且可以給以色列 人 作 記號。」 The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
39 於是祭司 以利亞撒 將 被燒之人 所 獻 的銅 香爐 拿來，人就錘出來，用以包 壇， And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:
40 給以色列 人 作紀念，使 亞倫 後裔 之外 的人 不得 近前來 在耶和華 面前 燒 香，免得 他遭可拉 和他一黨所遭的。這乃是照 耶和華 藉著 摩西 所吩咐的。 To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the Lord; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses.
41 第二天，以色列 全 會眾 都向 摩西、 亞倫 發怨言 說：「你們 殺了 耶和華 的百姓了。」 But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the Lord.
42 會眾 聚集 攻擊 摩西、 亞倫的時候，向 會 幕 觀看，不料，有雲彩 遮蓋了，耶和華 的榮光 顯現。 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
43 摩西、亞倫 就來 到 會 幕 前。 And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
44 耶和華 吩咐 摩西 說： And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
45 「你們離開 這 會眾，我好在轉眼之間 把他們 滅絕。」他們二人就俯伏 於 地。 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
46 摩西 對 亞倫 說：「拿 你的香爐，把壇 上 的火 盛 在其中，又加上 香，快快 帶 到 會眾那裡，為他們 贖罪；因為 有忿怒 從 耶和華 那裡出來，瘟疫 已經發作了。」 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord; the plague is begun.
47 亞倫 照著 摩西 所說的 拿來，跑 到 會 中，不料，瘟疫 在百姓 中已經發作了。他就加 上 香，為 百姓 贖罪。 And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
48 他站 在 活人 死人 中間，瘟疫 就止住了。 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
49 除了 因 可拉 事情 死的以外，遭瘟疫 死的，共有 一萬四 千 七 百人。 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.
50 亞倫 回 到 會 幕 門口，到 摩西那裡，瘟疫 已經止住了。 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.
