| 1 | 弟兄們， 我現在對明白 律法 的人說，你們豈不曉得 律法 管 人 是在 活著的 時候嗎？ | Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? |
| 2 | 就如 女人 有了丈夫，丈夫 還活著，就被律法 約束； 丈夫 若 死了，就脫離了 丈夫的 律法。 | For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. |
| 3 | 所以 丈夫 活著，她若歸於 別人，便叫 淫婦； 丈夫 若 死了，她就 脫離了 丈夫的 律法， 雖然歸於 別人，也不 是 淫婦。 | So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. |
| 4 | 我的 弟兄們，這樣說來，你們 藉著 基督 的身體，在律法 上也是 死了，叫 你們 歸於 別人，就是歸於那從 死裡 復活的，叫 我們結果子給 神。 | Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. |
| 5 | 因為 我們 屬 肉體 的時候，那 因 律法 而生的惡 慾 就在我們 肢體 中 發動，以致結成 死亡的 果子。 | For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. |
| 6 | 但 我們既然 在 捆 我們的律法上死了，現今就脫離了 律法，叫 我們 服事主，要按著 心靈（心靈：或譯聖靈）的新樣， 不 按著儀文 的舊樣。 | But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. |
| 7 | 這樣，我們可說 甚麼呢？律法 是罪嗎？斷乎不是！只是 非 因 律法，我就不 知 何為罪。非 律法 說「不可 起貪心」， 我就不 知 何為貪心。 | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. |
| 8 | 然而，罪 趁著 機會，就藉著 誡命 叫諸般的 貪心 在我 裡頭 發動；因為 沒有 律法，罪 是死的。 | But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. |
| 9 | 我 以前 沒有 律法 是活著的；但是 誡命 來到，罪 又活了，我 就 死了。 | For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. |
| 10 | 那 本來叫 人活 的誡命，反倒 叫 我 死； | And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. |
| 11 | 因為 罪 趁著 機會，就藉著 誡命 引誘 我，並且 殺了我。 | For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. |
| 12 | 這樣看來， 律法 是聖潔的，誡命 也是 聖潔、 公義、 良善的。 | Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. |
| 13 | 既然如此，那良善的 是叫 我 死嗎？斷乎不是！叫我死的乃是 罪。但罪藉著 那良善的 叫 我 死，就 顯出 真是罪，叫 罪 因著 誡命 更顯出是 惡 極了。 | Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. |
| 14 | 我們原曉得 律法 是 屬乎靈的，但 我 是 屬乎肉體的，是已經賣 給 罪了。 | For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. |
| 15 | 因為 我所做的，我自己不 明白； 我所願意 的， 我並不 做； 我所恨惡 的， 我倒去做。 | For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. |
| 16 | 若 我所做的， 是我所不 願意的，我就應承 律法 是善的。 | If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. |
| 17 | 既是這樣，就不是 我 做 的，乃是 住 在我 裡頭 的罪做的。 | Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. |
| 18 | 我也知道，在我 裡頭， 就是 我 肉體 之中，沒有 良善。因為，立志 為善 由得 我，只是 行出來 由不得我。 | For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. |
| 19 | 故此，我所願意的 善，我反不 做；我所 不 願意 的惡， 我倒 去做。 | For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. |
| 20 | 若 我去做 所 不 願意做的，就不是 我 做 的，乃是 住 在我 裡頭 的罪做的。 | Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. |
| 21 | 我 覺得 有個律，就是 我 願意 為 善的時候，便有惡 與我 同在。 | I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. |
| 22 | 因為 按著 我裡面的意思（原文是人），我是喜歡 神的 律； | For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: |
| 23 | 但 我覺得 肢體 中 另有 個律 和我 心中的 律 交戰， 把我 擄去，叫我附從那 肢體 中 犯罪 的律。 | But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. |
| 24 | 我真是 苦啊！誰 能救 我 脫離 這 取死 的身體呢？ | O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? |
| 25 | 感謝 神，靠著 我們的 主 耶穌 基督就能脫離了。這樣看來，我 以內心 順服 神的 律，我肉體 卻 順服罪 的律了。 | I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. |
