| 1 | 弟兄們，論到 時候、 日期，不 用 寫 信給你們， | But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. |
| 2 | 因為 你們 自己明明 曉得， 主 的日子 來到， 好像 夜間 的 賊一樣。 | For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. |
| 3 | 人正說「平安 穩妥」的時候， 災禍 忽然 臨到 他們，如同 產難 臨到 懷 胎的婦人一樣， 他們絕不 能逃脫。 | For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. |
| 4 | 弟兄們，你們 卻 不 在 黑暗 裡，叫 那日子 臨到 你們 像 賊一樣。 | But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. |
| 5 | 你們 都 是 光明 之子， 都是白晝 之子。我們不 是 屬黑夜的，也不 是屬幽暗的。 | Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. |
| 6 | 所以，我們不 要睡覺 像 別人一樣，總要 警醒 謹守。 | Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. |
| 7 | 因為 睡了 的人是在夜間 睡， 醉了 的人是在夜間 醉。 | For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. |
| 8 | 但我們 既然 屬乎 白晝，就應當謹守，把信 和 愛 當作護心鏡遮胸， 把得救 的盼望 當作頭盔 戴上。 | But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. |
| 9 | 因為 神 不 是預定 我們 受 刑，乃是 預定 我們藉著 我們 主 耶穌 基督 得 救。 | For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 10 | 他 替 我們 死，叫 我們無論 醒著， 睡著，都與 他 同 活。 | Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. |
| 11 | 所以，你們該彼此 勸慰， 互相 建立，正 如 你們素常所行的。 | Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. |
| 12 | 弟兄們，我們勸 你們 敬重 那 在你們 中間 勞苦的人，就 是在主 裡 面治理 你們、 勸戒 你們的； | And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; |
| 13 | 又 因 他們 所做的工，用 愛心 格外 尊重 他們。你們 也要彼此 和睦。 | And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. |
| 14 | 我們又勸 弟兄們，要警戒 不守規矩的人，勉勵 灰心的人，扶助 軟弱的人，也要向 眾人 忍耐。 | Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. |
| 15 | 你們要謹慎，無論是誰 都不可 以惡 報 惡；或 是 彼此相待，或 是待 眾人，常 要 追求 良善。 | See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. |
| 16 | 要常常 喜樂， | Rejoice evermore. |
| 17 | 不住地 禱告， | Pray without ceasing. |
| 18 | 凡事 謝恩；因為 這是 神 在 基督 耶穌裡 向 你們 所定的旨意。 | In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |
| 19 | 不 要消滅 聖靈的感動； | Quench not the Spirit. |
| 20 | 不 要藐視 先知的講論。 | Despise not prophesyings. |
| 21 | 但要 凡事 察驗； 善美的 要持守， | Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. |
| 22 | 各樣的 惡事 要禁戒不做。 | Abstain from all appearance of evil. |
| 23 | 願賜平安的 神 親自 使你們 全然 成聖！又 願你們的 靈 與 魂 與 身子 得蒙保守，在 我們 主 耶穌 基督 降臨的時候，完全無可指摘！ | And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 24 | 那召 你們 的本是信實的，他 必 成就這事。 | Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. |
| 25 | 請弟兄們 為 我們 禱告。 | Brethren, pray for us. |
| 26 | 與眾 弟兄 親嘴 問安， 務要聖潔。 | Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss. |
| 27 | 我指著主 囑咐 你們，要把這信 念 給眾 弟兄聽。 | I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. |
| 28 | 願我 主 耶穌 基督 的恩 常與 你們同在！ | The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. The first epistle unto the Thessalonians was written from Athens. |
