| 3 | 免得有人 被 諸般 患難 搖動。因為 你們自己 知道，我們受患難原是 命定的。 | That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. |
| 4 | 我們 在 你們那裡的時候，預先告訴 你們， 我們必受 患難，以後 果然 應驗了，你們也 知道。 | For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know. |
| 5 | 為 此，我 既不能再 忍，就打發人去，要 曉得 你們的 信心如何，恐怕 那誘惑人的 到底誘惑了 你們， 叫我們的 勞苦 歸 於 徒然。 | For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. |

| 8 | 你們 若 靠 主 站立得穩， 我們就活了。 | For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. |
| 9 | 我們在 神 面前，因著 你們 甚是喜樂；為 這一切 喜樂， 可用何等的 感謝 為 你們 報答 神呢？ | For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; |
| 10 | 我們晝 夜 切切地 祈求，要 見 你們的 面， 補滿 你們 信心的 不足。 | Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? |
| 11 | 願 神─我們的 父 和 我們的 主 耶穌 一直引領 我們 到 你們那裡去。 | Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. |
| 12 | 又願主 叫你們 彼此 相愛的心，並 愛眾人 的心都能增長， 充足， 如同 我們 愛 你們一樣， | And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: |
| 13 | 好使你們當 我們 主 耶穌 同 他 眾 聖徒 來的時候， 在我們 父 神 面前， 心 裡堅固，成為 聖潔，無可責備。 | To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. |
