| 16 | 眾人 都 驚奇， 歸榮耀與 神，說：「 有大 先知 在 我們 中間興起來了！」又說：「 神 眷顧了 他 的百姓！」 | And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. |
| 17 | 他 這事 的風聲 就 傳 遍了 猶太 和 周圍地方。 | And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the region round about. |
| 18 | 約翰 的門徒 把 這些事 都告訴 約翰。 | And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things. |

| 20 | 那兩個人 來 到 耶穌那裡，說：「施洗 的約翰 打發 我們 來問 你：『那將要來 的是 你嗎？還是 我們等候 別人呢？』」 | When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? |

| 22 | 耶穌回答 說：「你們去，把 所看見 所聽見 的事告訴 約翰，就是瞎子 看見，瘸子 行走，長大痲瘋 的潔淨， 聾子 聽見，死人 復活，窮人 有福音傳給他們。 | Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. |

| 25 | 你們出去，到底 是要看 甚麼？要看 穿 細軟 衣服 的人嗎？那穿 華麗 衣服、 宴樂 度日 的人是 在 王宮裡。 | But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts. |
| 26 | 你們出去，究竟 是要看 甚麼？要看先知嗎？我告訴 你們，是的， 他比先知 大多了。 | But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. |
| 27 | 經上記著說：『 我要差遣 我的 使者 在你 前面 預備 道路』，所說的 就是 這個人。 | This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. |
| 28 | 我告訴 你們，凡 婦人 所生的，沒有一個 大過 約翰的；然而 神 國 裡最小的 比他 還大。」 | For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. |
| 29 | 眾 百姓 和 稅吏 既受過 約翰 的洗，聽見這話，就以 神 為義； | And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. |

| 32 | 好像 孩童 坐 在 街市上， 彼此 呼叫 說：我們向你們 吹笛， 你們不 跳舞；我們向你們舉哀， 你們不 啼哭。 | They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept. |
| 33 | 施洗 的約翰 來，不 吃 餅，不 喝 酒， 你們說 他是被鬼 附著的。 | For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. |
| 34 | 人 子 來，也吃 也 喝， 你們說 他是貪食 好酒的 人，是稅吏 和 罪人 的朋友。 | The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! |
| 35 | 但 智慧 之子 都以智慧 為是。」 | But wisdom is justified of all her children. |
| 36 | 有一個 法利賽人 請 耶穌 和 他 吃飯；耶穌就 到 法利賽人 家 裡去坐席。 | And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat. |
| 37 | 那城 裡 有一個女人， 是 個罪人， 知道 耶穌在 法利賽人 家 裡坐席，就拿著 盛香膏 的玉瓶， | And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, |
| 38 | 站 在耶穌背後，挨著 他 的腳 哭， 眼淚 溼了 耶穌 的腳，就 用自己 的頭 髮 擦乾，又 用嘴連連親 他 的腳， 把香膏 抹上。 | And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. |
| 39 | 請 耶穌 的法利賽人 看見這事， 心 裡說：「這人 若 是 先知， 必知道 摸 他 的是誰， 是個怎樣 的女人； 乃是 個罪人。」 | Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. |
| 40 | 耶穌 對 他 說：「西門！我有 句話要對你 說。」 西門說：「夫子，請說。」 | And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. |
| 41 | 耶穌說：「一個 債主 有 兩個 人欠他的債；一個 欠 五十兩 銀子， 一個 欠五兩銀子； | There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. |
| 42 | 因為他們 無 力 償還，債主就開恩免了 他們兩個人的債。 這兩個人 哪一個 更 愛 他呢？」 | And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? |
| 43 | 西門 回答 說：「我想 是那 多 得恩免的人。」 耶穌 說：「你斷 的不錯。」 | Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. |
| 44 | 於是 轉過來 向著 那女人，便對西門 說：「你看見 這 女人嗎？我進了 你的 家，你沒有 給 我水 洗 腳；但 這 女人用眼淚 溼了 我的 腳， 用 頭髮 擦乾。 | And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. |
| 45 | 你沒有 與 我 親嘴；但 這 女人從 我進來 的時候 就不 住地 用嘴親 我的 腳。 | Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. |
| 46 | 你沒有 用油 抹 我的 頭；但 這 女人用香膏 抹 我的 腳。 | My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. |
| 47 | 所以 我告訴 你，她 許多的 罪 都赦免了，因為 她的愛 多；但 那 赦免 少的，他的愛 就少。」 | Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. |
| 48 | 於是 對那女人 說：「你的 罪 赦免了。」 | And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. |
| 49 | 同席 的人 心 裡說：「這 是 甚麼人， 竟 赦免 人的罪呢？」 | And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? |
| 50 | 耶穌對 那女人 說：「你的 信 救了 你； 平平安安 回去吧！」 | And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. |
