1 有一 天，耶穌 在 殿 裡教訓 百姓， 講福音的時候，祭司長 和 文士 並 長老 上前來， And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,
2 問 他 說：「你告訴 我們，你仗著 甚麼 權柄 做 這些事？ 給 你 這 權柄 的是 誰呢？」 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?
3 耶穌回答 說：「我也要 問 你們 一句話，你們且 告訴 我。 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:
4 約翰 的洗禮 是 從 天上來的？ 是從 人間來的呢？」 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?
5 他們彼此 商議 說：「 我們若 說『從 天上來』，他必說：『你們為甚麼 不 信 他呢？』 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?
6 若 說『從 人間來』， 百姓 都要用石頭打死 我們，因為 他們 信 約翰 是 先知。」 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
7 於是 回答說：「不 知道 是從哪裡來的。」 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.
8 耶穌 說：「我 也不 告訴 你們，我仗著 甚麼 權柄 做 這些事。」 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
9 耶穌就 設 比喻 對 百姓說：「有人 栽了 一個葡萄園， 租 給園戶，就 往外國去 住了許久。 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
10 到了時候，打發 一個僕人 到 園戶那裡去，叫 他們把 園 中當納的果子 交 給他；園戶 竟 打了 他，叫他空手 回去。 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
11 又 打發 一個 僕人去， 他們也 打了他，並且 凌辱他，叫他空手 回去。 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
12 又 打發 第三個僕人去， 他們也 打傷了他， 把他推出去了。 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
13 園 主 說：『我怎麼 辦呢？我要打發 我的 愛 子去，或者 他們尊敬 他。』 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
14 不料，園戶 看見 他，就彼此 商量 說：『這 是 承受產業的，我們殺 他吧，使 產業 歸 於我們！』 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
15 於是 把他 推 出 葡萄園外，殺了。這樣，葡萄園 的主人 要怎樣 處治 他們呢？ So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
16 他要來 除滅 這些 園戶， 將葡萄園 轉給 別人。」 聽見 的人說：「這是萬不可的！」 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
17 耶穌看著 他們 說：「經上記著：匠人 所棄 的石頭 已 作了 房角 的頭塊石頭。 這 是 甚麼意思呢？ And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 凡 掉 在 那 石頭上的，必要跌碎； 那石頭掉 在 誰的身上，就要把誰 砸得稀爛。」 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
19 文士 和 祭司長 看出 這 比喻 是指著 他們 說的，當 時 就想要 下手 拿 他，只是 懼怕 百姓。 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
20 於是 窺探耶穌，打發 奸細 裝作 好人，要 在他的 話 上得把柄，好 將他 交在 巡撫 的政權之下。 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
21 奸細就 問 耶穌 說：「夫子，我們曉得 你所講 所傳 都是正道，也 不 取 人的外貌，乃是 誠誠實實 傳 神 的道。 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
22 我們 納 稅 給凱撒，可以 不可以？」 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Cesar, or no?
23 耶穌看出 他們 的詭詐，就對 他們 說： But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
24 「拿一個銀錢 來給我 看。這像 和 這號 是 誰的？」 他們說：「是凱撒的。」 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cesar’s.
25 耶穌 說：「這樣，凱撒 的物 當歸給 凱撒， 神 的物當歸給 神。」 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cesar the things which be Cesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.
26 他們當著 百姓，在 這話 上得不著把柄，又 希奇 他 的應對，就閉口無言了。 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
27 撒都該人 常說 沒 有 復活的事。 有幾個 來 問 耶穌說： Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
28 「夫子！摩西 為我們 寫著說：『人 若 有 妻 無子 就死了，他 兄弟 當娶 他的妻， 為 哥哥 生子立 後。』 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
29 有 弟兄 七人， 第一個 娶了 妻，沒有孩子 死了； There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
30 第二個、 第三個 也娶過 她； And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
31 那七個 人都娶過她，沒有 留下 孩子 就 死了。 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
32 後來 婦人 也 死了。 Last of all the woman died also.
33 這樣，當 復活的時候，她 是 哪一個 的妻子呢？因為 他們七個 人都娶過 她。」 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34 耶穌 說：「這 世界 的人 有娶 有嫁； And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 惟有 算為配 得 那 世界，與 從 死 裡復活 的人也不 娶 也 不嫁； But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 因為 他們不 能 再 死， 和天使一樣；既 是 復活 的人，就為 神 的兒子。 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
37 至於 死人 復活， 摩西 在 荊棘篇上， 稱 主 是亞伯拉罕的 神， 以撒的 神， 雅各的 神，就指示明白了。 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 神原不 是 死人的 神，乃是 活人的 神；因為 在他那裡（那裡：或譯看來），人 都是活的。」 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
39 有幾個 文士 說：「夫子！你說得 好。」 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
40 以後 他們不 敢 再問 他 甚麼。 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
41 耶穌對 他們 說：「人怎麼 說 基督 是 大衛 的子孫呢？ And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?
42 詩篇 上 大衛 自己 說：主 對我 主 說：你坐 在 我的 右邊， And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 等 我使 你 仇敵 作你 的腳凳。 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
44 大衛 既 稱 他 為主，他怎麼 又 是 大衛 的子孫呢？」 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
45 眾 百姓 聽的時候，耶穌 對門徒 說： Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
46 「你們要防備 文士。他們 好 穿 長衣 遊行， 喜愛 人在 街市 上問他們安，又 喜愛會堂 裡 的高位， 筵席 上 的首座； Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 他們 侵吞 寡婦 的家產， 假意 作很長的 禱告。這些人 要受 更重的 刑罰！」 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
