| 3 | 願頌讚 歸與我們的 主 耶穌 基督 的父 神，就是 發慈悲 的父， 賜各樣 安慰的 神。 | Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; |
| 4 | 我們 在 一切 患難中，他 就安慰 我們，叫 我們 能 用 神 所賜的 安慰 去安慰 那遭 各樣 患難的人。 | Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. |

| 9 | 自己 心裡 也斷定 是必死的，叫 我們不 靠 自己，只 靠 叫死人 復活的 神。 | But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: |
| 10 | 他 曾救 我們 脫離 那極大的 死亡， 現在仍要救我們，並且我們指望 他 將來還要 救我們。 | Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; |
| 11 | 你們 以祈禱 幫助 我們，好叫 許多人 為 我們 謝恩，就是 為 我們 因 許多 人 所得的恩。 | Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. |
| 12 | 我們 所誇的 是 自己的 良心， 見證 我們憑著 神 的聖潔 和 誠實； 在世為人不 靠 人的 聰明，乃 靠 神 的恩惠， 向 你們 更是這樣。 | For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. |
| 13 | 我們現在寫 給你們 的話，並不 外乎 你們所念的、 所認識的，我也 盼望 你們到 底 還是要認識； | For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end; |
| 14 | 正如 你們已經有 幾分 認識 我們， 以我們 誇口，好像 我們 在 我們主 耶穌 的日子 以你們誇口一樣。 | As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus. |
| 15 | 我既然 這樣 深信，就早 有意 到 你們那裡去， 叫你們再得 益處； | And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit; |
| 16 | 也 要從 你們 那裡經過，往 馬其頓去，再 從 馬其頓 回到 你們那裡， 叫 你們 給我送行 往 猶太去。 | And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judea. |
| 17 | 我有 此意，豈是 反覆不定嗎？ 我所起的意，豈是從 情慾起的，叫 我 忽是 忽非嗎？ | When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay? |
| 18 | 我指著 信實的 神說，我們 向 你們 所傳的道，並沒 有 是 而又 非的。 | But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. |
| 19 | 因為 我 和 西拉 並 提摩太，在你們 中間 所傳 神 的兒子 耶穌 基督， 總沒 有 是 而又 非的， 在 他 只有 一是。 | For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. |
| 20 | 神 的應許，不論有多少，在 基督 都是是的。所以 藉著 他也都是實在（實在：原文是阿們）的，叫 神 因 我們 得榮耀。 | For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. |
| 21 | 那在 基督 裡堅固 我們 和 你們，並且 膏 我們的就是 神。 | Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; |
| 22 | 他 又 用印印了 我們，並 賜 聖靈 在 我們 心裡作憑據（原文是質）。 | Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. |
| 23 | 我 呼籲 神 給 我的 心 作見證， 我沒有 往 哥林多 去 是為要寬容 你們。 | Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth. |
| 24 | 我們並不是 轄管 你們的 信心，乃 是 幫助 你們的 快樂，因為 你們憑信 才站立得住。 | Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand. |
