| 1 | 論到 祭偶像之物，我們曉得 我們都 有 知識。但知識 是叫人自高自大，惟 有愛心 能造就人。 | Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. |
| 2 | 若 有人 以為 自己知道 甚麼，按 他所當 知道的，他仍 是不知道。 | And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. |
| 3 | 若 有人 愛 神，這人乃是 神 所 知道的。 | But if any man love God, the same is known of him. |
| 4 | 論到 吃祭偶像 之物，我們知道 偶像 在 世 上算不得甚麼，也知道 神只 有一位，再沒有別的 神。 | As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. |
| 5 | 雖 有 稱為 神的，或 在 天，或 在 地，就如 那 許多的 神， 許多 的主； | For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) |
| 6 | 然而 我們 只有一位 神，就是父─萬物 都本於 他；我們 也 歸於 他─並 有一位 主，就是耶穌 基督─萬物 都是藉著 他有的；我們 也 是藉著 他有的。 | But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. |
| 7 | 但 人 不 都有這等知識。 有人 到 如今 因拜慣了 偶像，就以為 所吃的 是祭偶像之物。 他們 的良心 既然 軟弱，也就污穢了。 | Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. |
| 8 | 其實食物 不 能叫 神 看中我們，因為我們 不 吃 也無 損， 吃 也無 益。 | But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. |
| 9 | 只是 你們要謹慎，恐怕 你們 這 自由 竟 成了 那軟弱 人的絆腳石。 | But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. |
| 10 | 若 有人 見 你 這有 知識的，在偶像的廟 裡 坐席，這人 的良心 若是 軟弱，豈不 放膽 去 吃 那祭偶像之物嗎？ | For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; |
| 11 | 因此，基督 為 他 死 的那軟弱 弟兄，也就因 你 的知識 沉淪了。 | And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? |
| 12 | 你們這樣 得罪 弟兄們， 傷了 他們 軟弱 的良心，就是得罪 基督。 | But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. |
| 13 | 所以，食物 若 叫我 弟兄 跌倒，我就永遠不 吃 肉，免得 叫我 弟兄 跌倒了。 | Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend. |
