| 1 | 但你所讲的总要合乎那纯正的道理。 | But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: |
| 2 | 劝老年人要有节制、端庄、自守，在信心、爱心、忍耐上都要纯全无疵。 | That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. |
| 3 | 又劝老年妇人，举止行动要恭敬，不说谗言，不给酒作奴仆，用善道教训人， | The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; |
| 4 | 好指教少年妇人，爱丈夫，爱儿女， | That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, |
| 5 | 谨守，贞洁，料理家务，待人有恩，顺服自己的丈夫，免得 神的道理被毁谤。 | To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. |
| 6 | 又劝少年人要谨守。 | Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. |
| 7 | 你自己凡事要显出善行的榜样；在教训上要正直、端庄， | In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, |
| 8 | 言语纯全，无可指责，叫那反对的人，既无处可说我们的不是，便自觉羞愧。 | Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. |
| 9 | 劝仆人要顺服自己的主人，凡事讨他的喜欢，不可顶撞他， | Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; |
| 10 | 不可私拿东西，要显为忠诚，以致凡事尊荣我们救主― 神的道。 | Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. |
| 11 | 因为 神救众人的恩典已经显明出来， | For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, |
| 12 | 教训我们除去不敬虔的心和世俗的情欲，在今世自守、公义、敬虔度日， | Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; |
| 13 | 等候所盼望的福，并等候至大的 神和我们（或译： 神―我们）救主耶稣基督的荣耀显现。 | Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; |
| 14 | 他为我们舍了自己，要赎我们脱离一切罪恶，又洁净我们，特作自己的子民，热心为善。 | Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. |
| 15 | 这些事你要讲明，劝戒人，用各等权柄责备人；不可叫人轻看你。 | These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. |
