| 2 | Poklala je svoje klanice, pomiješala svoje vino i postavila svoj stol. | She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. |
| 3 | Poslala je svoje djevojke da objave svrh gradskih visina: | She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, |
| 4 | "Tko je neiskusan, neka se svrati ovamo!" A nerazumnima govori: | Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, |
| 5 | "Hodite, jedite od mojega kruha i pijte vina koje sam pomiješala. | Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. |
| 6 | Ostavite ludost, da biste živjeli, i hodite putem razboritosti." | Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. |
| 7 | Tko poučava podrugljivca, prima pogrdu, i tko prekorava opakoga, prima ljagu. | He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. |
| 8 | Ne kori podsmjevača, da te ne zamrzi; kori mudra, da te zavoli. | Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. |
| 9 | Pouči mudroga, i bit će još mudriji; uputi pravednoga, i uvećat će se njegovo znanje. | Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. |
| 10 | Gospodnji strah početak je mudrosti, a razboritost je spoznaja Presvetog. | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. |
| 11 | "Po meni ti se umnožavaju dani i množe ti se godine života. | For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. |
| 12 | Ako si mudar, sebi si mudar; budeš li podsmjevač, sam ćeš snositi." | If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. |
| 13 | Gospođa ludost puna je strasti, prosta je i ne zna ništa. | A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. |
| 14 | I sjedi na vratima svoje kuće na stolici, u gradskim visinama, | For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, |
| 15 | te poziva one koji prolaze putem, koji ravno idu svojim stazama: | To call passengers who go right on their ways: |
