| 1 | 凡由人間所選之大祭司、乃爲人而立、以司上帝之事、俾其爲罪獻祭與禮、 | For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: |
| 2 | 己旣囿於荏弱、故亦容忍愚昧迷罔之人、 | Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. |
| 3 | 故當爲罪獻祭、爲民亦爲己也、 | And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. |
| 4 | 且無人自取此尊、惟蒙召於上帝、如亞倫者、 | And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. |
| 5 | 如是、基督之爲大祭司、亦非自榮、乃上帝語之曰、爾乃我子、今日生爾、 | So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. |
| 6 | 於他書亦云、爾依麥基洗德之班、永爲祭司、 | As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. |
| 7 | 彼在世時、大呼涕泣、以其祈禱籲懇、獻於能救之出死者、且因其寅畏而得升聞、 | Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; |
| 8 | 彼雖爲子、猶因所歷之苦、而學順服、 | Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; |
| 9 | 及其完全、則爲凡順服之者永救之原、 | And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; |
| 10 | 上帝稱之爲大祭司、依麥基洗德之班焉、○ | Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. |
| 11 | 論及斯人、我有多辭、難以剖析、以爾鈍於聽聞也、 | Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. |
| 12 | 蓋以時而論、爾當爲師、然尚需人以上帝聖詔小學之始、教導爾曹、且爲需乳不需粒食者、 | For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. |
| 13 | 凡食乳者、不悟義理之言、以其爲赤子耳、 | For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. |
| 14 | 惟粒食宜於成人、因其習練、而才識明通、能別夫善惡也、 | But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. |
