1 以色列攜凡所有啟行、至別是巴、獻祭於父以撒之上帝、 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer–sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2 夜間、上帝於異象中、呼以色列曰、雅各、雅各、曰、吾在此、 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3 曰、我乃上帝、卽爾父之上帝、爾往埃及、勿懼、在彼、我必使爾成爲大國、 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
4 我將偕爾至埃及、導爾歸故土、約瑟將按厥手、俾爾瞑目、 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5 雅各由別是巴啟行、諸子以法老所遣之車、載父雅各、及其妻孥、 And Jacob rose up from Beer–sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6 雅各與其戚屬、挈羣畜、曁在迦南所得之貨財、往於埃及、 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
7 諸子、諸孫、諸女、諸孫女、咸至埃及、○ His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8 以色列族至埃及者、其名如左、雅各與其諸子、長子流便、 And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
9 流便之子、哈諾、法路、希斯崙、迦米、 And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10 西緬之子、耶母利、雅憫、阿轄、雅斤、瑣轄、及迦南女所生之掃羅、 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
11 利未之子、革順、哥轄、米拉利、 And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12 猶大之子、珥、俄南、示拉、法勒斯、謝拉、珥與俄南死於迦南、法勒斯之子希斯倫、哈母勒、 And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
13 以薩迦之子、陀拉、普瓦、約伯、伸崙、 And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
14 西布倫之子、西烈、以倫、雅利、 And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
15 此利亞在巴旦亞蘭、從雅各所生之子孫、與女底拿、共三十三人、 These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan–aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16 迦得之子、洗非芸、哈基、書尼、以斯本、以利、亞羅底、亞列利、 And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
17 亞設之子、音拿、亦施瓦、亦施韋、比利亞、及女西拉、比利亞之子、希別、瑪結、 And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.
18 此拉班所賜利亞之婢悉帕、從雅各所生之子孫、共十六人、 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
19 雅各妻拉結之子、約瑟、便雅憫、 The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
20 安邑祭司波提非拉女亞西納、在埃及從約瑟生瑪拿西、以法蓮、 And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti–pherah priest of On bare unto him.
21 便雅憫之子、比拉、比結、亞實別、基拉、乃幔、以希、羅實、母平、戶平、亞勒、 And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
22 此拉結從雅各所生之子孫、共十四人、 These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23 但之子戶伸、 And the sons of Dan; Hushim.
24 拿弗他利之子、雅薛、沽尼、耶色、示冷、 And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
25 此拉班所賜拉結之婢辟拉、從雅各所生之子孫、共七人、 These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.
26 凡雅各所出、同至埃及者、共六十六人、子婦不與焉、 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;
27 約瑟在埃及生二子、屬於雅各家至埃及者、共七十人、○ And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28 雅各遣猶大先詣約瑟、導往歌珊、衆咸至焉、 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29 約瑟備車、往歌珊迓父、見之、抱頸而哭不輟、 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30 以色列謂約瑟曰、爾旣尚存、我見汝面、雖死無憾、 And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
31 約瑟謂昆弟及父家曰、我將往告法老、昔在迦南、我之昆弟曁父家咸至、 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32 彼乃牧者、養畜爲業、今攜牛羊、及凡所有而至、 And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
33 法老召爾時、問汝何業、 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
34 則曰、爾僕自幼迄今、養畜爲業、我祖亦然、如是、可居歌珊、蓋埃及人視牧者爲可憎也、 That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
