1 以掃卽以東、其裔如左、 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.
2 以掃娶迦南女爲室、卽赫人以倫女亞大、與希未人祭便孫、亞拿女阿何利巴瑪、 Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 又娶以實瑪利女、尼拜約妹巴實抹、 And Bashemath Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
4 亞大生以利法、巴實抹生流珥、 And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;
5 阿何利巴瑪生耶烏施、雅蘭、可拉、此皆以掃於迦南地所生者、 And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.
6 以掃率妻、與子女家人、牛羊牲畜、及在迦南所得之資財、往詣他方、離弟雅各、 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.
7 蓋二人資財豐盛、牲畜繁多、所旅之地、不能容之、弗獲同居、 For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.
8 以掃卽以東、居西珥山、○ Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
9 以掃居西珥山、爲以東族祖、厥裔如左、 And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:
10 其子名以利法、亞大所生、流珥、巴實抹所生、 These are the names of Esau’s sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.
11 以利法生提幔、阿抹、洗玻、迦坦、基納斯、 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 以利法妾亭納、生亞瑪力、此皆以掃妻亞大之裔、 And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau’s son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau’s wife.
13 流珥生拿哈、謝拉、沙瑪、米撒、此皆以掃妻巴實抹之裔、 And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
14 祭便孫、亞拿女阿何利巴瑪、從以掃生耶烏施、雅蘭、可拉、○ And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau’s wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
15 以掃胤中、有爲族長者、其畧如左、以掃冢子以利法子孫中、有提幔族長、阿抹族長、洗玻族長、基納斯族長、 These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,
16 可拉族長、迦坦族長、亞瑪力族長、此以利法後裔中之族長、在以東地、皆亞大之裔、○ Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.
17 以掃子流珥子孫中、有拿哈族長、謝拉族長、沙瑪族長、米撒族長、此流珥後裔中之族長、在以東地、皆以掃妻巴實抹之裔、 And these are the sons of Reuel Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
18 阿何利巴瑪子孫中、有耶烏施族長、雅蘭族長、可拉族長、此皆以掃妻亞拿女阿何利巴瑪之裔、 And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau’s wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife.
19 上所記諸族長、皆以掃卽以東之子孫、○ These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.
20 素居是地者、何利人西珥子孫、其畧如左、羅坍、朔巴、祭便、亞拿、 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
21 底順、以察、底珊、此皆以東地何利人西珥裔中之族長、 And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 羅坍子何利、希幔妹亭納、 And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 朔巴子亞勒文、瑪拿轄、以巴錄、示玻、阿南、 And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 祭便子亞雅、亞拿、當時在野牧父祭便之驢、遇温泉者、卽此亞拿、 And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
25 亞拿子底順、女阿何利巴瑪、 And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26 底順子欣但、伊是班、益蘭、基蘭、 And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 以察子辟罕、撒番、亞干、 The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
28 底珊子烏斯、亞蘭、 The children of Dishan are these; Uz, and Aran.
29 何利族長、其畧如左、羅坍族長、朔巴族長、祭便族長、亞拿族長、 These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,
30 底順族長、以察族長、底珊族長、此皆何利人在西珥地爲族長者、○ Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.
31 當以色列人未有王時、王於以東地者、其畧如左、 And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
32 比珥子比拉爲王於以東、都亭哈巴、 And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 比拉薨、波斯拉人謝拉子約巴嗣位、 And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
34 約巴薨、提幔人戶珊嗣位、 And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.
35 戶珊薨、比達子哈達、卽昔於摩押田擊米甸人者嗣位、都亞未得、 And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.
36 哈達薨、瑪士利加人桑拉嗣位、 And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
37 桑拉薨、河濱利河伯人掃羅嗣位、 And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.
38 掃羅薨、亞革波子巴勒哈南嗣位、 And Saul died, and Baal–hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
39 巴勒哈南薨、哈達嗣位、都巴烏、其后米希他別、乃米薩合孫、瑪特利之女、○ And Baal–hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
40 以掃裔諸族長、依其世系居處名氏、其畧如左、亭納族長、亞勒瓦族長、耶帖族長、 And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,
41 阿何利巴瑪族長、以拉族長、比嫩族長、 Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
42 基納斯族長、提幔族長、米比薩族長、 Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,
43 瑪基疊族長、以蘭族長、以上所載、皆以東之族長、依其疆域、在其壤地、以東族祖、卽以掃是、 Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.
