| 3 | 殺有其時、醫有其時、毀有其時、建有其時、 | A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; |
| 4 | 哭有其時、笑有其時、哀有其時、舞有其時、 | A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; |
| 5 | 擲石有其時、積石有其時、懷抱有其時、不抱有其時、 | A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; |

| 10 | 我見上帝畀人苦任、以之爲務、 | I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. |
| 11 | 彼造諸物、皆適其時、無不美善、置悠久之念於人心、然其所爲、自始至終、人莫能測、 | He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. |
| 12 | 我知世人畢生懽愉行善、無愈於此、 | I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. |
| 13 | 人式食式飲、享福於操作、亦上帝所賜也、 | And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. |
| 14 | 我知上帝所作、皆必永存、無能益之、亦無能損之、上帝行此、使人畏之、 | I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. |
| 15 | 今所有者、昔已有之、後將有者、前已有之、旣往之事、上帝復索之焉、○ | That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. |
| 16 | 我觀日下、公庭有不公、義所有不義、 | And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. |
| 17 | 我心自謂、義者惡者、上帝必鞫之、蓋諸事百工、各有其時、 | I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. |
| 18 | 言及世人、我心自謂、上帝欲試之、使知其與獸無異、 | I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. |
| 19 | 人所遇者、獸亦遇之、人與獸所遇惟一、此之死猶彼之死、同一氣之呼吸、人無所愈於獸、悉屬虛空、 | For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. |
| 20 | 俱歸一所、俱出於土、俱歸於土、 | All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. |
| 21 | 人之神或升於上、獸之魂或降於地、其誰知之、 | Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? |
| 22 | 我見世人樂於其操作、無愈於此、蓋斯爲其值、身後之事、孰能使之反見哉、 | Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him? |
