절聖經 (文理和合)King James Version
1 瑪撒王利慕伊勒之眞言、其母所訓者、 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2 曰、我子歟、我胎所產、我許願而得之子歟、我何言乎、 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3 勿耗精力於婦女、勿費經營於害王躬者、 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4 利慕伊勒歟、王飲清酒、牧伯問醇醪之所在、皆非所宜、 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5 恐飲酒忘法、枉斷困苦者之獄、 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6 當以醇醪飲瀕死者、以清酒飲苦心者、 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7 縱彼飲之、使忘其貧、不憶其苦、 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 當爲喑啞者啟口、爲孤獨者伸寃、 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9 啟口秉公判斷、爲貧苦者辨屈、○ Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10 孰得賢婦、價愈珍珠、 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 其夫恃之、得利無匱、 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 終婦之身、有益無損、 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 求毧與枲、樂於操作、 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 譬彼商舟、遠運食物、 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 未明而起、供食家人、頒工婢女、 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 度田畝而購之、以手所獲、植葡萄園、 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 以力束腰、而健其臂、 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 知貿易之獲利、其燈終夜不熄、 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 手執績軸、掌持紡具、 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 舒手以濟貧、舉手以振困、 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 不慮家人遇雪、因其皆衣紫衣、 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 自製華毯、服枲與絳、 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 其夫與邑中長老、同坐邑門、爲衆所識、 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 彼製枲衣而鬻之、售紳於商賈、 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 勢力威儀爲其服、念及將來則喜笑、 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 智慧發於口、慈訓達於舌、 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 勤家政、不素餐、 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 其子起而祝之、其夫讚之、 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 曰、賢女甚多、惟爾爲冠、 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 美姿屬僞、豔色爲虛、惟寅畏耶和華之婦、必得稱揚、 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 以其操作之果效歸之、願其工作於邑門榮之、 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
