| 1 | 耶和華非手短而不能救、非耳聾而不能聽、 | Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: |
| 2 | 惟爾之罪戾、使爾與上帝隔絕、爾之愆尤、俾其掩面、而不垂聽、 | But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. |
| 3 | 爾手汚於血、爾指染於惡、口出虛詞、舌談邪慝、 | For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. |
| 4 | 其人涉訟、不依公平、申訴不循眞實、恃虛僞、言誕妄、懷殘害、生邪慝、 | None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. |
| 5 | 煦嫗蝮卵、組織蛛網、食其卵者必死、其卵被踐、則蝮出焉、 | They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. |
| 6 | 其網不能爲衣、其工不能自蔽、邪慝爲其工、強暴在其手、 | Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. |
| 7 | 其足趨以行惡、急流無辜之血、衷存邪慝、所經之途、無不荒蕪毀滅、 | Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. |
| 8 | 不識平康之路、所行不公、自闢曲徑、行其中者、不獲綏安、 | The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. |
| 9 | 故公平遠我、仁義不及我躬、我望光明、仍處幽暗、我冀平旦、猶履晦冥、 | Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. |
| 10 | 循牆如瞽者、徧捫如盲人、日中顚趾、無異昏暮、在於健者之間、有若死人、 | We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. |
| 11 | 我吼若熊、哀鳴若鳩、望公義而不得、冀拯救而相遠、 | We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. |
| 12 | 在於爾前、我咎孔多、我罪訟我、我咎偕我、自知我愆、 | For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; |
| 13 | 悖逆不認耶和華、違離不從我上帝、出暴戾叛逆之言、衷懷虛僞、口以宣之、 | In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. |
| 14 | 公平卻退、仁義遙立、誠實顚於衢、正直不得入、 | And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. |
| 15 | 誠慤無存、去惡者被虜、耶和華鑒之、惡其無義、 | Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. |
| 16 | 彼見無人、異其無保、遂以己臂自行拯救、以己義自爲扶持、 | And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. |
| 17 | 以公義爲護胸、以拯救爲兜鍪、以復仇爲衵服、以熱中爲長衣、 | For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. |
| 18 | 依人所爲、而加報施、震怒乎仇敵、降罰於島嶼、 | According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. |
| 19 | 耶和華之名、自西而見敬、其榮自東而見畏、蓋耶和華必臨、若急流之河、爲其氣所鼓也、 | So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. |
| 20 | 耶和華曰、有救贖者、將臨於錫安、及雅各家改過之人、 | And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. |
| 21 | 我與斯人所立之約、卽我賦爾之神、傳爾之言、不離乎爾、及爾子孫之口、自今以迄永久、耶和華言之矣、 | As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever. |
