1 義者云亡、無人介意、仁者逝世、無人思及、善人脫於患難、 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2 彼獲平康、凡躬行正直者、必安寢於其柩、○ He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
3 惟爾女巫之子、奸夫與妓之裔、其前而聽、 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
4 爾戲謔誰乎、向誰張吻吐舌、爾曹豈非悖逆之子、詭詐之裔乎、 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
5 爾於茂橡綠樹之下、縱厥淫欲、山谷石窟之間、殺戮子女、 Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?
6 溪中光石、乃爾所得、爲爾之業、爲之灌奠、而獻素祭、爾旣行此、我豈能不怒乎、 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
7 爾置牀於高岡、陟之而獻祭、 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
8 門與門柱之後、立爾記誌、爲人裸體而登、爲之展牀、與之訂約、且顧厥林、而戀慕之、 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.
9 以膏奉於摩洛、多加香品、遣使遠方、而自屈辱、至入陰府、 And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.
10 道途迢遞、不免困憊、然未言無望、手復得力、故不疲乏、 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
11 爾畏誰、因誰而懼、致爾誑言、不以我爲念、不以此爲意、爾不畏我、豈非因我歷久無言乎、 And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
12 爾之公義、我將宣之、爾之所爲、無益於汝、 I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.
13 爾號呼之際、任爾所集者救爾、彼必爲風所飄、爲氣所吹、惟託庇於我者、將承斯土、獲我聖山爲業、 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
14 將有言曰、修築道路、平之平之、在我民前、去其窒礙、○ And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.
15 巍巍在上、永永其居、名爲聖者曰、我居高而且聖之所、且與痛悔謙冲之人偕居、以蘇謙冲者之神、而暢痛悔者之心、 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
16 我不常爭辯、不恆忿怒、恐我所造之人困憊、神性疲弊、 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
17 緣其貪婪之咎、我則奮怒以擊之、掩面而憾之、彼仍悖逆、任意而行、 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
18 彼之行徑、我見之矣、我必醫之、引導之、慰藉之、並慰藉其中之憂人、 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.
19 耶和華曰、我造厥口之果、遠者近者、願其平康、我必醫之、 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.
20 惟彼惡人、若洶湧之海、不能恬靜、厥水擁出泥穢、 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 我上帝曰、作惡之輩、不享平康、 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
