1 雅各家、以以色列名而稱、自猶大源而出者、其聽我言、爾指耶和華之名而誓、稱揚以色列之上帝、惟非以誠以義、 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
2 蓋彼自稱爲聖邑之民、恃以色列之上帝、名爲萬軍之耶和華也、 For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is his name.
3 耶和華曰、昔我預言諸事、出之於口、昭示於人、猝然行之、俾底於成、 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
4 我素知爾剛愎、爾項乃鐵、爾額乃銅、 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
5 故自疇昔、事尚未至、我先宣告、昭示於爾、免爾曰、此乃我之偶像所行、我之雕像鑄像所命、 I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
6 爾旣聞之、今悉見之、尚不宣示乎、自今而後、我以新事示爾、卽爾所未知之祕奧、 Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
7 乃今新創、非昔所有、爾前此所未聞、免爾曰、我已知之矣、 They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
8 爾實未聞未知、爾耳未通、我知爾甚行詐、自出母胎以來、稱爲悖逆者、 Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
9 今緣我名、遲延我怒、爲我聲譽、忍怒不發、免爾滅絕、 For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
10 我曾鍊爾、非若鍊銀、試爾於患難之爐、 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
11 我爲己故、必行所言、豈容我名受辱、不以我榮畀他神也、○ For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
12 雅各我所選之以色列歟、爾其聽我、我乃耶和華、始我也、終亦我也、 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
13 我手奠地基、右手布諸天、我一呼之、則皆立焉、 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
14 爾其咸集以聽、諸神之中、孰曾言此、我耶和華所愛者、必成我所悅於巴比倫、其臂加於迦勒底人、 All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The Lord hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
15 我旣諭之、又復召之、導之而至、使其道途亨達、 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
16 爾其就我、以聆斯言、我自元始、不言於隱、自古我已在焉、今主耶和華遣我、及其神矣、 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
17 贖爾之耶和華、以色列之聖者曰、我乃爾之上帝耶和華、我訓誨爾、俾爾獲益、導爾於當行之途、 Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
18 願爾恪遵我命、則享綏安、若河水之流、且得仁義、若海濤之湧、 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
19 爾之後裔、多若塵沙、爾之所出、繁若砂礫、其名不沒、不絕於我前、○ Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
20 爾其出巴比倫地、避迦勒底人、謳歌宣揚、明示地極云、耶和華已贖其僕雅各、 Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The Lord hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
21 導民經野、俾不煩渴、使石出泉、磐裂水湧、 And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
22 耶和華曰、作惡之輩、不享平康、 There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.
