維時、巴比倫王、巴拉但子米羅達巴拉但、聞希西家遘疾而愈、致書饋禮、 | At that time Merodach–baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
希西家因使者而悅、以其府庫之寶物、金銀、香品、寶膏、與武庫之器械、及所藏之寶物、悉示之、凡宮闈曁全國所有者、無不示之、 | And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
先知以賽亞詣希西家王曰、斯人何言、奚自而來、希西家曰、來自遠方、卽巴比倫也、 | Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.
曰、彼於爾室、所見何物、希西家曰、凡我室中所有、彼悉觀之、我之寶藏、無不示之、 | Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
以賽亞曰、宜聽萬軍耶和華之言、 | Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts:
其日將至、爾室中所有者、與爾列祖至今所積者、必遷至巴比倫、不遺一物、耶和華言之矣、 | Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
爾所生諸子中、必有被虜、在巴比倫王宮爲宦豎、 | And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
希西家謂以賽亞曰、爾所傳耶和華之言善矣、又曰、蓋我尚存之日、必得綏安穩固、 | Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.
