| 1 | 亞摩斯子以賽亞、所見論巴比倫之預示、○ | The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see. |
| 2 | 建纛童山、揚聲揮手而招之、俾入顯者之門、 | Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. |
| 3 | 我已命我所區別者、召我驕樂之傑士、以洩我忿、 | I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness. |
| 4 | 山中喧譁、若民熙攘、諸國會集、厥聲轟闐、萬軍之耶和華、核數軍旅以戰、 | The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts mustereth the host of the battle. |
| 5 | 彼衆來自遠方、至自天涯、乃耶和華與其忿恚之具、盡滅斯土、○ | They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. |
| 6 | 爾其號泣、蓋耶和華之日伊邇、殄滅自全能者而來、 | Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. |
| 7 | 故衆手將弱、人心俱怯、 | Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt: |
| 8 | 彼必驚惶、痛楚愁慘、其痛苦也、若臨產之婦、相顧駭愕、面如火焰、 | And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. |
| 9 | 耶和華之日將至、其勢殘酷、具有忿恚震怒、以致斯土荒蕪、罪人滅於其中、 | Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. |
| 10 | 天星列宿、其光不著、日出而暗、月不揚輝、 | For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. |
| 11 | 我必緣邪慝而罰斯世、因罪愆而懲惡人、止驕者之傲、抑暴者之高、 | And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. |
| 12 | 使人寡於兼金、較俄斐之精金尤少、 | I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. |
| 13 | 萬軍之耶和華忿恚震怒之日、我必使天震動、使地搖撼、離乎其所、 | Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. |
| 14 | 人如被逐之麀、無牧之羊、各歸其族、各奔其地、 | And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land. |
| 15 | 遇敵者必被刺、見執者亡於刃、 | Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. |
| 16 | 嬰孩被擲而碎、彼所目擊、其室見刦、其妻被玷、○ | Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. |
| 17 | 我激瑪代人攻之、彼不視銀爲貴、不以金爲悅、 | Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. |
| 18 | 其弓擊殺少壯、不恤胎孕、其目不惜孩提、 | Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children. |
| 19 | 巴比倫乃列國中之尊榮、迦勒底人所誇之華美、將若所多瑪蛾摩拉、爲上帝所傾覆、 | And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. |
| 20 | 永無人跡、代無居民、在此、亞拉伯人不張其幕、牧者不臥其羊、 | It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. |
| 21 | 野獸伏於斯、鴟鴞盈其室、鴕鳥棲止於斯、野羊踴躍於斯、 | But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. |
| 22 | 豺狼嗥於第宅、野犬鳴於華宮、其時伊邇、其日不延、 | And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged. |
