절聖經 (文理和合)King James Version
1 出銀有鑛、鍊金有方、 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
2 鐵取於土、銅鎔於石、 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
3 人立限於晦冥、究幽暗陰翳之礦石、至乎其極、 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
4 鑿穴於荒墟、人跡不到、縋而下、與人相隔、懸搖靡定、 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
5 若夫地上、則產糧食、其下翻起、如被火攻、 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
6 其石蘊碧玉、藏金沙、 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
7 其道鷙鳥不識、鷹目未窺、 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen:
8 惡獸未履、猛獅未過、 The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
9 其人手鑿堅石、傾陷山根、 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.
10 鑿石出川、珍寶悉覩、 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
11 杜塞滲漏、蘊藏畢見、 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.
12 惟智慧何處可尋、明哲之所安在、 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
13 其值人不之知、生人之地、亦不得見、 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
14 深淵曰、不在我中、滄海曰、不與我偕、 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
15 不能以金購之、不能衡銀、以爲其值、 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
16 俄斐之金、紅玉碧玉、不足較其值、 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17 黃金琉璃、不能爲其匹、精金之器、不足與之易、 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
18 珊瑚水晶、俱無足論、智慧之值、愈於珍珠、 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19 古實黃玉、不足與之比、精金不足較其值、 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
20 然則智慧奚自、明哲之所何在、 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21 隱於羣生之目、蔽於天空之鳥、 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
22 死域與淪亡曰、我聞其名、 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
23 上帝悉其道、識其處、 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24 以其鑒觀地極、遍察天下、 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
25 爲風定其輕重、量度諸水、 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
26 爲雨露立法、爲雷電定程、 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
27 其時上帝明見之、宣示之、堅定之、窮究之、 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
28 謂人曰、寅畏主爲智慧、遠邪惡爲明哲、 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
