| 1 | 我以此語爾、免爾傾覆、 | These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. |
| 2 | 人將逐爾出會、且時將至、殺爾者、自以爲事上帝也、 | They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. |
| 3 | 如是、因其未識父與我也、 | And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. |
| 4 | 我以是語爾、時至、俾爾憶及我嘗言之、初未以此語爾者、以我偕爾也、 | But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. |
| 5 | 我今歸於遣我者、爾中無人問我何往、 | But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? |
| 6 | 第因我以是語爾、憂充爾心矣、 | But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. |
| 7 | 然我以誠語爾、我往、則益爾、不往、保惠師弗來、往則遣之就爾、 | Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. |
| 8 | 至則以罪、以義、以鞫、使世自訟、 | And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: |
| 9 | 以罪、因其弗信我、 | Of sin, because they believe not on me; |
| 10 | 以義、因我歸父、爾不復見我、 | Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; |
| 11 | 以鞫、因斯世之君見鞫也、 | Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. |
| 12 | 我尚有多端語爾、但爾今弗克勝之、 | I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. |
| 13 | 迨眞理之神至、將導爾悉明眞理、蓋彼非由己而言、乃言其所聞、且以將來者示爾、 | Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. |
| 14 | 彼將榮我、蓋以取於我者示爾也、 | He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. |
| 15 | 凡父所有者、卽我有、故曰、以取於我者示爾也、 | All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. |
| 16 | 頃之、爾不見我、又頃之、爾復見我、 | A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. |
| 17 | 其徒或相語曰、彼云、頃之不見我、又頃之復見我、且云、因我歸父、此言何也、 | Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? |
| 18 | 又曰、頃之云者、何也、我不知其所謂也、 | They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith. |
| 19 | 耶穌知其欲問、遂曰、我言頃之爾不見我、又頃之爾復見我、爾以此相詰乎、 | Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? |
| 20 | 我誠語汝、爾將哭而哀、世將喜、爾將憂、然爾憂必易爲樂也、 | Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. |
| 21 | 婦臨產則憂、因其期至、旣誕、不復憶其苦、喜有人生於世也、 | A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. |
| 22 | 如是爾今有憂、然我復見爾、爾心將喜、且爾之喜、無人奪之、 | And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. |
| 23 | 其時、爾無所問於我、我誠語汝、爾若有求於父、父將以我名賜爾、 | And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. |
| 24 | 爾未嘗以我名而求、求則必得、致爾之樂盈焉、○ | Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. |
| 25 | 凡此、我曾以喻語爾、時至、我不復以喻語爾、乃以父明示於爾、 | These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. |
| 26 | 其時、爾將以我名而求、我不曰、我將爲爾祈父、 | At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: |
| 27 | 蓋父自愛爾、以爾愛我、且信我出於父也、 | For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. |
| 28 | 我出於父而臨世、復離世而歸父、 | I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. |
| 29 | 門徒曰、今爾明言、不以喻矣、 | His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. |
| 30 | 我今知爾乃無不知、無須人問、是以信爾自上帝出也、 | Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. |
| 31 | 耶穌曰、今爾信乎、 | Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? |
| 32 | 時將至、且已至矣、爾將離散、各歸其所、遺我獨在、然我非獨在、父偕我也、 | Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. |
| 33 | 我以此語爾、俾爾於我而安、爾在世有難、然當毅然、我已勝世矣、 | These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. |
