1 耶穌基督之啟示、乃上帝所賜、以示其諸僕、卽必速成之事也、且遣厥使、曉諭其僕約翰、 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2 乃於上帝之道、與耶穌基督之證、卽凡所經見者而證之、 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
3 讀此豫言、及聞而守其中所記者、皆爲有福、蓋時邇矣、○ Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
4 約翰書達亞西亞之七會、願恩惠平康、自昔在今在而將來者、及其座前之七神、歸於爾曹、 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5 並自耶穌基督、卽忠信之證、由死而首生、爲世上諸王之主者、彼愛我儕、以其血釋我諸罪、 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 使我儕爲國、爲其父上帝之祭司、願榮與權歸之、以至世世、阿們、 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7 彼將乘雲而來、衆目必見之、刺之者亦然、世上諸族、將爲之哀哭、有如是也、阿們、○ Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8 始我也、終亦我、而今而昔而將來、全能者也、主上帝言之矣、○ I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
9 我約翰、爾曹之兄弟、與爾共與耶穌之難與國與忍者、爲上帝之道及耶穌之證、昔在一島、名曰拔摩、 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10 適主日、我感於聖神、聞大聲於我後如號角曰、 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11 爾所見者、當筆之於書、寄於七會、卽以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉、 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12 我回顧之、欲知與我言之聲、則見金燈臺七、 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 其間有似人子者、身衣長衣及足、胸束金帶、 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 首與髮皆白、如羊毛如雪、目如火焰、 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 足似明銅、如煉於冶者、聲如衆水之聲、 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 七星在其右手、口出雙鋒利劍、容如烈日之射、 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17 我見之而仆其足前如死、彼以右手撫我曰、勿懼、 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 始者、終者、生者、我也、我曾死、今則生、至於世世、且有死亡陰府之鑰、 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
19 爾當書所見者、及今所有、後必成之事、 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
20 爾所見我右手七星、與金燈臺七之奧、夫七星卽七會之使、七燈臺卽七會也、 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
