| 1 | 俄巴底亞所得之啟示、論以東曰、我儕自耶和華得聞音信、有使者奉遣至列邦曰、其起、我儕其起、與之戰、 | The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle. |
| 2 | 耶和華曰、我使爾在列邦中爲微小、甚被藐視、 | Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised. |
| 3 | 爾處巖穴、居於崇高、爾心之驕欺爾、自謂誰能降我於地、 | The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? |
| 4 | 爾雖高居如鷹、結巢星間、我必使爾下墜、耶和華言之矣、 | Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord. |
| 5 | 爾之見滅爲何如乎、如賊臨爾、如盜夜間至爾、其攘竊也、豈非饜其所欲而後已乎、如摘葡萄者至爾、豈不有所遺乎、 | If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes? |
| 6 | 以掃何被搜乎、其所藏之寶、何被索乎、 | How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up! |
| 7 | 與爾結盟者、咸逐爾至於邊陲、與爾和好者、欺爾勝爾、食爾糧者、設機檻於爾下、爾無知識也、 | All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him. |
| 8 | 耶和華曰、是日、我豈不滅以東之智者、絕以掃山之哲人乎、 | Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau? |
| 9 | 提幔歟、爾之勇士將驚惶、致居以掃山者、悉被戮而盡絕、 | And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter. |
| 10 | 以爾行暴於爾昆弟雅各、必蒙羞恥、永世見絕、 | For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever. |
| 11 | 昔日外人掠其貨財、異族入其邑門、爲耶路撒冷掣籤、爾立於旁、若敵中之一焉、 | In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. |
| 12 | 爾昆弟遘災之日、爾不可旁觀、猶大人見滅之日、爾不可欣喜、於其遭難之日、爾不可狂言、 | But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. |
| 13 | 我民遇禍之日、爾不可入其邑門、受罰之日、爾不可旁觀其苦、罹害之日、爾不可攘取其財、 | Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity; |
| 14 | 不可立於通衢、而絕其逃脫者、於其患難之日、不可付其遺民於敵、 | Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress. |
| 15 | 蓋耶和華之日近臨萬邦、爾所爲者、加諸爾身、爾所行者、歸於爾首、 | For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. |
| 16 | 爾猶大人、在我聖山而飲、萬邦亦將如是恆飲、且飲且咽、將若未嘗有者、 | For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been. |
| 17 | 惟在錫安山、將有逃脫者、其山爲聖、雅各家必得其業、 | But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. |
| 18 | 雅各家爲火、約瑟家爲燄、以掃家爲稿、必燃而燬之、以掃家靡有孑遺、耶和華言之矣、 | And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it. |
| 19 | 南土之人、將得以掃山、窪地之人、將得非利士地、其餘將得以法蓮、及撒瑪利亞之田疇、便雅憫將得基列、 | And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead. |
| 20 | 以色列軍旅之俘囚、在迦南人中者、將得其地、至於撒勒法、耶路撒冷之俘囚、在西法拉者、必得南土諸邑、 | And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south. |
| 21 | 將有救者、上錫安山而鞫以掃山、國則歸於耶和華焉、 | And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s. |
