| 2 | 論埃及、卽論埃及王法老尼哥之軍旅、屯於伯拉河濱之迦基米施、在猶大王約西亞子約雅敬四年、爲巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒所擊、 | Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh–necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah. |
| 3 | 曰、其備干盾、進而戰鬬、 | Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle. |
| 4 | 騎士歟、備馬而乘、貫冑而立、礪乃戈、擐乃甲、 | Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines. |
| 5 | 耶和華曰、我奚見此哉、彼衆驚而卻退、勇士敗潰、急遁不顧其後、四周惶恐、 | Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the Lord. |
| 6 | 毋令疾趨者遁逃、毋令有勇者得逸、在北方伯拉河濱、衆咸躓而顚、 | Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates. |
| 7 | 彼若尼羅之漲溢、若川流之洶湧者、誰歟、 | Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers? |
| 8 | 若尼羅之漲溢、若川流之洶湧者、乃埃及也、彼曰、我必興起、掩蓋全地、毀其城邑、滅其居民、 | Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof. |
| 9 | 馬其疾上、車其急馳、爲勇士者、執干之古實與弗人、挽弓之路德人、其出哉、 | Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow. |
| 10 | 是爲萬軍之主耶和華之日、乃復仇之日、彼必復仇於敵、使刃食人而飽、飲血而足、緣萬軍之主耶和華、在北方伯拉河濱、有祀事焉、 | For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord God of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates. |

| 12 | 爾之恥辱聞於列邦、爾之呼號充乎遍地、蓋勇士與勇士互衝、二者同仆、○ | The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together. |
| 13 | 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、將至擊埃及地、耶和華諭先知耶利米之言、 | The word that the Lord spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt. |
| 14 | 曰、爾其播於埃及、傳於密奪、宣於挪弗答比匿云、出而屹立、預爲之備、爾之四周、已見吞於鋒刃、 | Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee. |
| 15 | 爾之壯士、曷被衝沒、彼之不立、因耶和華逐之也、 | Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the Lord did drive them. |
| 16 | 彼令多人顚仆、互相枕藉、乃曰起哉、我儕歸本族、返故土、以避兇刃、 | He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword. |
| 17 | 至則呼曰、埃及王法老敗矣、其機已失矣、 | They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed. |
| 18 | 大君王名萬軍之耶和華曰、我指己生而誓、彼之來也、若山中之他泊、若海濱之迦密、 | As I live, saith the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come. |
| 19 | 埃及處女歟、爾必見虜、宜備行李、蓋挪弗必荒蕪焚燬、無人居處、 | O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant. |
| 20 | 埃及乃爲美犢、惟有蜚蝱自北而來、今已至矣、 | Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north. |
| 21 | 其中僱卒、猶闌中之犢、咸卻退遁逃、而不堅立、因其患難之日、受罰之時至矣、 | Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation. |
| 22 | 其聲如蛇之行、蓋敵率軍而來、執斧若樵夫然、 | The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood. |
| 23 | 耶和華曰、林木雖難窺察、敵必伐之、因彼多於蝗蟲、不可勝數、 | They shall cut down her forest, saith the Lord, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable. |
| 24 | 埃及處女必蒙羞恥、見付於北方人之手、 | The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north. |
| 25 | 萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝曰、我必罰挪之亞捫曁法老、埃及與其諸神諸王、及凡恃法老者、 | The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him: |
| 26 | 付於索其命者之手、及巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、與其臣僕之手、厥後埃及必有居民、猶如古昔、耶和華言之矣、○ | And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the Lord. |
| 27 | 我僕雅各歟、毋畏懼、以色列歟、毋驚惶、我必拯爾於遠方、援爾苗裔於虜至之地、雅各必返、寧謐綏安、無人使之恐怖、 | But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. |
| 28 | 耶和華曰、我僕雅各歟、毋畏懼、蓋我偕爾、我必盡滅我驅爾所至之邦、而不盡滅爾、惟從寬責爾、不能不罰爾焉、 | Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the Lord: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished. |
