| 1 | 有曰、人出其妻、妻離之而他適、前夫豈復納之、若然、斯地非受汚之甚乎、耶和華曰、惟爾相愛者衆、與之行淫、猶思歸我乎、 | They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord. |
| 2 | 仰觀荒邱、爾何在未受玷汚、爾坐道旁以待、若亞拉伯人之伏於曠野、以爾淫亂邪惡、汚衊斯土、 | Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness. |
| 3 | 故甘霖不降、春雨不零、惟爾具有淫婦之顏、不知羞愧、 | Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed. |
| 4 | 自茲以往、爾豈不呼我曰、爾乃我父、爲我少年之導、 | Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth? |
| 5 | 彼豈含怒迄於永久、蓄忿至於終極乎、爾雖言此、而仍作惡、以成爾欲、○ | Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest. |
| 6 | 當約西亞王時、耶和華諭我曰、悖逆之以色列、其所爲者、汝見之乎、彼陟諸高岡、詣諸綠樹、行淫於彼、 | The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. |
| 7 | 我曰、彼行此事、後必歸我、惟彼不歸、其詭譎之妹猶大見之矣、 | And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. |
| 8 | 悖逆之以色列、因其宣淫、爲我所出、與以離書、其詭譎之妹猶大、仍不畏懼、往而行淫、我見之矣、 | And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. |
| 9 | 彼輕其淫亂、汚衊斯土、狥欲於木石、 | And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks. |
| 10 | 其詭譎之妹猶大、仍不專誠歸我、惟僞爲耳、耶和華言之矣、○ | And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the Lord. |
| 11 | 耶和華諭我曰、悖逆之以色列、較詭譎之猶大、尚顯其義、 | And the Lord said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah. |
| 12 | 爾其北往、宣斯語曰、耶和華云、悖逆之以色列歟、爾其歸哉、我乃矜憫、不怒視爾、不永懷憤、耶和華言之矣、 | Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. |
| 13 | 爾干罪於爾上帝耶和華、奔馳諸路、在諸綠樹之下、崇事他神、不從我言、當自認爾罪、耶和華言之矣、 | Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. |
| 14 | 耶和華曰、悖逆之子、爾其歸哉、我爲爾夫、必於爾中、每邑簡一人、每家簡二人、導爾至錫安、 | Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: |
| 15 | 以遂我心之牧者賜爾、使以智慧明哲養爾、 | And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. |
| 16 | 耶和華曰、其時爾昌熾繁衍於斯土、人不復言耶和華之約匱、不置於心、不記憶之、不詣其所、不製造之、 | And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more. |
| 17 | 其時人必稱耶路撒冷爲耶和華之位、列邦必緣耶和華名、集於耶路撒冷、不復徇其惡念、剛愎而行、 | At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart. |
| 18 | 是日也、猶大家、將與以色列家偕行、來自北方、詣我所錫爾祖爲業之地、 | In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers. |
| 19 | 我曾曰、我置爾於諸子中、錫爾樂土、列國中極美之業、又曰、爾必稱我爲父、不轉而不從我、 | But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me. |
| 20 | 以色列家歟、婦行詐以離其夫、爾如是行詐於我、耶和華言之矣、 | Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord. |
| 21 | 今在荒邱、聞有人聲、乃以色列人哀哭祈求、因行邪道、忘其上帝耶和華、 | A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the Lord their God. |
| 22 | 爾悖逆之子歟、尚其歸我、我必醫爾悖逆、曰、我歸爾、緣爾爲我之上帝耶和華也、 | Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God. |
| 23 | 瞻仰岡陵、恃山上之喧闐、實屬徒然、以色列之拯救、乃在我上帝耶和華、 | Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel. |
| 24 | 自我少時、我之列祖勞力而得牛羊、及其子女、彼可恥之物、乃吞噬之、 | For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. |
| 25 | 我當蒙羞而臥、以恥蔽身、蓋我與我列祖、自幼迄今、干犯我上帝耶和華、不從其言、 | We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God. |
