1 噫嘻是邑、昔則居民充盈、今則何其寂寞兮、昔爲邦國之長、今如嫠婦兮、昔於諸州爲郡主、今則供役兮、 How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
2 彼於夜間痛哭、流涕盈腮兮、愛者雖多、無人慰藉兮、良朋欺之、成爲仇敵兮、 She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
3 猶大因遭難及服役之勞、遷徙異地兮、居於列邦、不得綏安兮、迫者追之、及於狹處兮、 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
4 郇途愁慘、無人赴大會兮、邑門寂寞、祭司歎息兮、處女遘難、居民罹苦兮、 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
5 其敵爲首、其仇利達兮、因其多罪、耶和華困苦之兮、彼之幼稚、見虜於敵兮、 Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the Lord hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
6 郇女之榮華盡喪兮、彼之牧伯、如不得芻之鹿兮、在於逐者之前、無力而走兮、 And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
7 耶路撒冷遘難受迫時、追念疇昔之樂境兮、彼之居民陷於敵手、援助無人兮、厥敵見之、笑其荒寂兮、 Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
8 耶路撒冷大干罪戾、故爲不潔兮、素尊之者見其裸體、咸蔑視之兮、彼則欷歔而退兮、 Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.
9 其裙汚衊、不念厥終兮、是以異常敗落、慰藉無人兮、耶和華歟、敵自尊大、願爾鑒我艱苦兮、 Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O Lord, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.
10 敵伸厥手、取其嘉物兮、爾曾命異族、毋入爾會兮、今彼入於聖所、郇民目擊兮、 The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
11 民皆嗟歎求糧兮、以嘉物易食、欲蘇其靈兮、耶和華歟、我成卑鄙、願爾垂顧兮、 All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O Lord, and consider; for I am become vile.
12 凡過此者、斯豈於爾無涉乎、請觀我所遭之憂、何憂可比兮、耶和華於其震怒之日、所加於我兮、 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
13 彼自上降火、入我骨而克之兮、張網以絆我足、使我却退兮、終日孤寂、而疲憊兮、 From above hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate and faint all the day.
14 予罪之軛、其手所繫兮、連結加於我項、使我力敗兮、主付我於敵手、我不能禦兮、 The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall, the Lord hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
15 我中勇士、主委棄之兮、召集大會攻我、制我少年兮、主踐猶大處女、如踐酒醡兮、 The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
16 我緣斯而哭泣、滿目流涕兮、慰我心蘇我靈者、遠乎我兮、我之子女伶仃、敵人獲勝兮、 For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
17 郇女舉手、無人慰藉兮、論及雅各、耶和華命四周爲之敵兮、耶路撒冷在於其中、如不潔兮、 Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the Lord hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
18 耶和華乃義、我逆厥命兮、惟爾衆民、尚其聽之、鑒我憂傷兮、我之處女、我之少年、悉爲俘虜兮、 The Lord is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
19 招愛我者、彼則欺我兮、我之祭司長老求糧、以蘇厥靈兮、乃於邑中絕氣兮、 I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to relieve their souls.
20 耶和華歟、請爾垂顧、我遭苦難、中心慘怛兮、叛逆維甚、衷懷反仄兮、在外喪於鋒刃、居家有若死亡兮、 Behold, O Lord; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
21 維彼聞我咨嗟、無人慰藉兮、諸敵聞我遘難、悅爾所行兮、爾所宣告之日旣至、彼乃與我相同兮、 They have heard that I sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done it: thou wilt bring the day that thou hast called, and they shall be like unto me.
22 願其諸惡、陳於爾前兮、因我干罪加諸我者、亦加諸彼兮、我多歎息、中心疲憊兮、 Let all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
