1 亞哈斯卽位時、年二十歲、在耶路撒冷爲王、歷十六年、不效其祖大衞、行耶和華所悅、 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord, like David his father:
2 循以色列諸王之道、爲巴力鑄像、 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim.
3 焚香於欣嫩子谷、以火焚其子女、從異邦可憎之事、卽耶和華於以色列人前、所逐諸族之事、 Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
4 且於崇邱、山岡之上、綠樹之下、獻祭焚香、 He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
5 故其上帝耶和華付之於亞蘭王手、亞蘭人擊之、虜民甚衆、攜至大馬色、又付之於以色列王手、大行殺戮、 Wherefore the Lord his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
6 利瑪利子比加在猶大、一日間、殺十二萬人、俱爲勇士、因棄其列祖之上帝耶和華也、 For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers.
7 以法蓮之勇士細基利、殺王子瑪西雅、理王室之押斯利甘、與王相以利加拿、 And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king’s son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.
8 以色列族虜其同宗二十萬人、婦孺與焉、亦掠貨財甚多、攜至撒瑪利亞、 And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
9 在彼有耶和華之先知名俄德、出迎返撒瑪利亞之軍、告之曰、爾列祖之上帝耶和華怒猶大、故付之於爾手、爾乃怒冲霄漢、大行殺戮、 But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the Lord God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage that reacheth up unto heaven.
10 今爾有意抑制猶大與耶路撒冷人、使爲僕婢、爾曹豈非亦獲罪於爾上帝耶和華乎、 And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not with you, even with you, sins against the Lord your God?
11 今聽我言、遣歸爾所虜之同宗、蓋耶和華之烈怒及於爾矣、 Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the Lord is upon you.
12 以法蓮之族長數人、約哈難子亞薩利雅、米實利末子比利家、沙龍子耶希西家、哈得萊子亞瑪撒、咸起、抵禦自陳而返者、 Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war,
13 曰、勿攜所虜之人入此、蓋爾所謀、乃使我獲罪於耶和華、益我罪過、我罪維大、烈怒及於以色列矣、 And said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended against the Lord already, ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.
14 於是執兵之士、以所虜之人與貨財、留於牧伯及會衆前、 So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation.
15 以上錄名之人遂起、攜被虜之衆、自所掠物中取衣、衣其裸者、又予之屨、供以飲食而膏之、弱者乘以驢、導往椶樹城耶利哥、至其昆弟、而返撒瑪利亞、○ And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
16 是時亞哈斯王遣使求助於亞述王、 At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.
17 因以東人擊猶大、虜其人、 For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.
18 非利士人亦侵猶大窪地、及南方之城邑、取伯示麥、亞雅崙、基低羅、梭哥與其鄉里、亭納與其鄉里、瑾瑣與其鄉里、而居於彼、 The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Beth–shemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there.
19 緣以色列王亞哈斯放恣於猶大、干犯耶和華特甚、故耶和華使猶大卑弱、 For the Lord brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the Lord.
20 亞述王提革拉毘尼色至、而不相助、反窘迫之、 And Tilgath–pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.
21 亞哈斯取耶和華室、及王宮牧伯家之物、餽亞述王、仍無裨益、 For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the Lord, and out of the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave it unto the king of Assyria: but he helped him not.
22 亞哈斯王困苦之際、愈干犯耶和華、 And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the Lord: this is that king Ahaz.
23 祭大馬色卽擊之者之神、曰、亞蘭王之神旣助之、我亦祭之、俾其助我、然斯神使彼與以色列衆偕亡、 For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
24 亞哈斯集上帝室之器碎之、扃閉室門、在耶路撒冷諸隅築壇、 And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the Lord, and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
25 在猶大諸邑作崇邱、焚香於他神、激其列祖之上帝耶和華怒、 And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger the Lord God of his fathers.
26 亞哈斯其餘事蹟、及其所行、自始至終、俱載於猶大以色列列王紀、 Now the rest of his acts and of all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
27 亞哈斯與列祖偕眠、葬於耶路撒冷邑、不入以色列列王之墓、子希西家嗣位、 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
