1 流便爲以色列長子、因汚其父之榻、故長子之業、歸於以色列子約瑟之子、惟譜系不依此記載、 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
2 猶大超越諸昆弟、君王由彼而出、第長子之業歸約瑟、 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s:)
3 以色列長子流便之子、哈諾、法路、希斯崙、迦米、 The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 約珥子示瑪雅、示瑪雅子歌革、歌革子示每、 The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5 示每子米迦、米迦子利亞雅、利亞雅子巴力、 Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,
6 巴力子備拉、乃流便族牧伯、爲亞述王提革拉毘尼色所虜、 Beerah his son, whom Tilgath–pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.
7 其昆弟按室家譜系爲長者、乃耶利、撒迦利雅、 And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8 與約珥曾孫、示瑪孫、亞撒子比拉、彼居亞羅珥、延至尼波、及巴力免、 And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal–meon:
9 又東、至伯拉河西之曠野、蓋在基列、其牲畜增多、 And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10 當掃羅時、與夏甲人戰、仆之、而居其幕、在基列東之全境、○ And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.
11 迦得子孫、居巴珊地、延至撒迦、與流便人相對、 And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah:
12 約珥爲族長、沙番次之、又有雅乃、及居巴珊之沙法、 Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 其家昆弟七人、乃米迦勒、米書蘭、示巴、約賴、雅干、細亞、希伯、 And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
14 此皆亞比孩子、亞比孩乃戶利子、戶利乃耶羅亞子、耶羅亞乃基列子、基列乃米迦勒子、米迦勒乃耶示篩子、耶示篩乃耶哈多子、耶哈多乃布斯子、 These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
15 又有古尼孫、押比疊子亞希爲族長、 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.
16 咸居基列、與巴珊及其鄉里、並沙崙郊野、至於邊境、 And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
17 當猶大王約坦、以色列王耶羅波安時、俱載入譜系、○ All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 流便人、迦得人、及瑪拿西半支派、能出征之武士、執干持刃、挽弓發矢、而善戰者、計四萬四千七百六十人、 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
19 與夏甲人、伊突人、拿非施人、挪答人戰、 And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.
20 戰時、呼籲上帝、上帝因其恃己、允其所祈而助之、以夏甲人及從之者、悉付其手、 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
21 虜敵之牲畜、駝五萬、綿羊二十五萬、驢二千、人十萬、 And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.
22 敵之被殺而仆者甚衆、蓋此戰由於上帝、遂據居其地、至被虜之時、○ For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.
23 瑪拿西半支派居於斯土、自巴珊延至巴力黑門、及示尼珥與黑門山、 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal–hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.
24 其族長乃以弗、以示、以列、亞斯列、耶利米、何達威雅、雅疊、皆英武有名之族長、○ And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.
25 斯民干犯其列祖之上帝、狥欲從斯土居民之神、卽上帝於其前、所滅諸族之神、 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 以色列之上帝聳動亞述二王、普勒與提革拉毘尼色之心、遂虜流便人、迦得人、及瑪拿西半支派、至哈臘、哈博、哈拉、及歌散河濱、迄於今日、 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath–pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
