| 1 | 每屆七年、當有豁免、 | At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. |
| 2 | 其例如左、耶和華之豁免、旣經布告、凡借貸於鄰者、必豁免之、不索其償、 | And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the Lord’s release. |
| 3 | 如外人可索之、惟屬己之物、貸於兄弟者、則當豁免、 | Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release; |
| 4 | 爾若聽爾上帝耶和華之命、守我今日所諭爾之誡、則爾中必無貧乏者、蓋爾上帝耶和華、必在所賜爲業之地、錫嘏於爾、 | Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: |
| 5 | 爾若聽爾上帝耶和華之命、守我今日所諭爾之誡、則爾中必無貧乏者、蓋爾上帝耶和華、必在所賜爲業之地、錫嘏於爾、 | Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. |
| 6 | 爾上帝耶和華必踐其言、錫嘏於爾、爾則貸金於列邦、不貸列邦之金、可轄列邦、不受列邦之轄、○ | For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. |
| 7 | 爾上帝耶和華賜爾之地、無論何邑、有窮乏之昆弟、毋頑爾心、握手而不之濟、 | If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: |
| 8 | 必啟爾手、貸之以補其缺、 | But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. |
| 9 | 愼勿惡念是懷、謂七年豁免之期伊邇、遂睥睨貧乏之昆弟、而弗之給、致彼籲耶和華、歸罪於爾、 | Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the Lord against thee, and it be sin unto thee. |
| 10 | 爾必給之、給時心不憂鬱、爲此之故、爾上帝耶和華、必於凡爾所行、及手所爲、錫嘏於爾、 | Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto. |
| 11 | 其地不無貧人、故我命爾、必啟爾手、以濟境內窮乏之昆弟、○ | For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. |
| 12 | 如爾昆弟希伯來人、或男或女鬻於爾、服役六年、越至七年、必釋之、 | And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee. |
| 13 | 旣釋之、毋使徒手而去、 | And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty: |
| 14 | 必由羊羣、禾場、酒醡、取而予之、依爾上帝耶和華錫嘏於爾者、從優給之、 | Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the Lord thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him. |
| 15 | 當憶爾昔在埃及爲奴、爾上帝耶和華贖爾、故我今日以此諭爾、 | And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day. |
| 16 | 僕若愛爾及爾家、以與爾同居爲善、謂爾、不願離爾而去、 | And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee; |
| 17 | 則當取錐貫耳於門、俾其永爲爾僕、待婢亦然、 | Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise. |
| 18 | 彼事爾六年、較之傭人、其值維倍、故釋之時、勿以爲難、爾上帝耶和華、必於凡爾所爲、錫嘏於爾、○ | It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest. |
| 19 | 牛羊首生之牡者、當區別爲聖、獻於爾上帝耶和華、首生之牛、毋令其耕、首生之羊、毋剪其毛、 | All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the Lord thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep. |
| 20 | 爾與眷屬、每歲於爾上帝耶和華所選之處食之、 | Thou shalt eat it before the Lord thy God year by year in the place which the Lord shall choose, thou and thy household. |
| 21 | 如有殘缺、或跛或瞽、無論何疵、不可以祭爾上帝耶和華、可於爾邑食之、潔與不潔之人、俱可食之、如食獐鹿、 | And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the Lord thy God. |
| 22 | 惟毋食其血、必傾於地、有如傾水、 | Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart. |
| 23 | — | Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water. |
