| 1 | 以色列支派咸至希伯崙、見大衞曰、我乃爾之骨肉、 | Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh. |
| 2 | 昔掃羅爲我王時、爾率以色列人出入、耶和華謂爾曰、爾必爲我民以色列之牧、而作其君、 | Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel. |
| 3 | 以色列長老、咸至希伯崙見王、大衞王在希伯崙、於耶和華前與之立約、遂膏大衞爲以色列王、 | So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David king over Israel. |
| 4 | 大衞卽位時、年三十、在位四十年、 | David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. |
| 5 | 在希伯崙爲猶大王、歷七年有六月、在耶路撒冷爲以色列及猶大王、歷三十三年、○ | In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah. |
| 6 | 王及從者往耶路撒冷、攻斯土之耶布斯人、耶布斯人謂大衞曰、爾必不得入此、瞽者跛者必逐爾、意謂大衞不能入也、 | And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither. |
| 7 | 然大衞取錫安之保障、卽大衞城、 | Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David. |
| 8 | 當日大衞曰、擊耶布斯人者、其至水溝、擊大衞中心所惡之跛者瞽者、故成諺曰、有彼瞽者跛者、人不能入其室、 | And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house. |
| 9 | 大衞居其保障、名之曰大衞城、在米羅之內、四周築垣、 | So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward. |
| 10 | 大衞日漸昌大、萬軍之上帝耶和華偕之、○ | And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him. |
| 11 | 推羅王希蘭遣使見大衞、攜香柏及木工石工而至、爲大衞建宮室、 | And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house. |
| 12 | 大衞乃知耶和華立之爲以色列王、且爲其民以色列振興其國、○ | And David perceived that the Lord had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake. |
| 13 | 大衞至自希伯崙、在耶路撒冷又娶后妃、誕生子女、 | And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David. |
| 14 | 在耶路撒冷所生者、其名如左、沙母亞、朔罷、拿單、所羅門、 | And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, |
| 15 | 益轄、以利書亞、尼斐、雅非亞、 | Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia, |
| 16 | 以利沙瑪、以利雅大、以利法列、○ | And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet. |
| 17 | 非利士人聞大衞受膏爲以色列王、咸至而索之、大衞聞之、乃入保障、 | But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold. |
| 18 | 非利士人旣至、布於利乏音谷、 | The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. |
| 19 | 大衞詢於耶和華曰、我往攻非利士人可否、爾付之於我手乎、耶和華曰、往哉、我必付之於爾手、 | And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand. |
| 20 | 大衞遂至巴力毘拉心、擊之於彼、則曰、耶和華破敵於我前、如水之衝流然、故其名地曰巴力毘拉心、 | And David came to Baal–perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal–perazim. |
| 21 | 敵遺其偶像、大衞與從者取之、○ | And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them. |
| 22 | 非利士人復至、布於利乏音谷、 | And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. |
| 23 | 大衞詢於耶和華、耶和華曰、毋往迎之、宜遶其後、於桑林相對之所攻之、 | And when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. |
| 24 | 聞桑杪有步履之聲、則急往、蓋耶和華先爾而行、擊非利士軍旅、 | And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the Lord go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines. |
| 25 | 大衞遵耶和華命、擊非利士人、自迦巴至基色、 | And David did so, as the Lord had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer. |
