1 大衞末終之言列左、耶西子大衞、得居高位、受膏於雅各之上帝、爲以色列之善歌者曰、 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 耶和華之神感我而言、厥詞在於我口、 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3 以色列之上帝有言、以色列之磐石謂我曰、以義治人、寅畏上帝、而秉權者、 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4 譬如旭日朝暉、清晨無雲、雨後日照、嫩草自地而發、 And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5 我家之於上帝、非若是乎、彼與我立永約、諸事堅定、救我之事、及我所望、彼豈不成之乎、 Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
6 惟彼匪徒、如被棄之荊棘、手不得執、 But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7 人欲取之、必以鐵器與槍柯、終於其地、焚之務盡、○ But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
8 從大衞之勇士、名列於左、軍長之首、他革捫人約設巴設、又稱伊斯尼人亞底挪、一時擊斃八百人、 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9 其次亞合裔、朵多子以利亞撒、昔非利士人集戰、以色列人逆之、從大衞者、有三勇士挑戰、此人與焉、 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10 彼擊非利士人、至於手倦、握刃不能釋、當日耶和華使之大獲勝捷、民衆但隨其後、掠取貨財、 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the Lord wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 其次哈拉人亞基子沙瑪、昔非利士人羣集於荳田、以色列衆遁逃、 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 沙瑪立於田間、以護其地、殺非利士人、耶和華使之大獲勝捷、 But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.
13 穡時、三十首領中、有三人至亞杜蘭穴、以覲大衞、非利士軍建營於利乏音谷、 And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
14 時、大衞在保障、非利士汛在伯利恆、 And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth–lehem.
15 大衞歆羡曰、深願有人由伯利恆門側之井、汲水以飲我、 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth–lehem, which is by the gate!
16 勇士三人衝過非利士軍、由伯利恆門側之井汲水、攜詣大衞、大衞不飲、乃灌之於耶和華前、 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth–lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord.
17 曰、耶和華歟、我決不爲此、豈飲冒死者之血乎、故不飲、三勇士所爲若此、 And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18 其中洗魯雅子、約押弟亞比篩爲首、嘗揮戈擊斃三百人、遂在三百人中得名譽、 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19 彼在三人中爲最尊、故爲其魁、惟不得與首三人同列、 Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20 又有甲薛勇士耶何耶大子比拿雅、大有作爲、殺摩押人亞利伊勒二子、又當雨雪時、下阱擊獅、 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21 又殺埃及壯士、其人執戈、比拿雅以杖往迎、奪其戈而殺之、 And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 比拿雅所爲如是、遂在三勇士中得名譽、 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23 彼較三十首領爲尊、惟不及前三人、大衞立之爲侍衞長、○ He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24 三十人中、有約押弟亞撒黑、伯利恆人朵多子伊勒哈難、 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth–lehem,
25 哈律人沙瑪、及以利加、 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26 帕勒提人希利斯、提哥亞人益吉子以拉、 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27 亞拿突人亞比以謝、戶沙人米本乃、 Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28 亞合人撒們、尼陀法人瑪哈萊、 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 尼陀法人巴拿子希立、便雅憫族、基比亞人利拜子以太、 Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30 比拉頓人比拿雅、迦實溪人希太、 Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31 伯亞拉巴人亞比亞本、巴魯米人押斯瑪弗、 Abi–albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32 沙本人以利雅哈巴、雅善衆子中約拿單、 Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33 哈拉人沙瑪、及沙拉子亞希暗、 Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
34 瑪迦族、亞哈拜子以利法列、基羅人亞希多弗子以連、 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35 迦密人希斯萊、亞巴人帕萊、 Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36 瑣巴人拿單子以甲、迦得人巴尼、 Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37 亞捫人西勒、比錄人拿哈萊、此二人、爲洗魯雅子約押執兵之士、 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
38 以帖人以拉、及迦立、 Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,
39 赫人烏利亞、共三十七人、 Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
