| 1 | 大衞意謂、必有一日、我亡於掃羅手、不如遁入非利士地、掃羅則絕其望、不復索我於以色列境、我乃脫於其手、 | And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand. |
| 2 | 遂起、與從者六百人、往投迦特王瑪俄子亞吉、 | And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath. |
| 3 | 大衞與其二妻、耶斯列女亞希暖、及曾適拿八、迦密女亞比該、同僕從並眷聚、咸偕亞吉居於迦特、 | And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife. |

| 5 | 大衞謂亞吉曰、如沾爾恩、請以郊外之邑、賜我居處、何必偕王居京都乎、 | And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee? |
| 6 | 亞吉賜以洗革拉、故洗革拉屬猶大王、迄於今日、○ | Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day. |
| 7 | 大衞居非利士地、計一年有四月、 | And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months. |
| 8 | 大衞與其從者、往侵基述人、基色人、亞瑪力人、此族素居斯土、自書珥至埃及、 | And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt. |
| 9 | 大衞擊之、無論男女、不存其生、取牛羊驢駝及衣服、歸見亞吉、 | And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish. |
| 10 | 亞吉曰、今日所侵何地、曰、猶大南境、耶拉篾南境、基尼南境、 | And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites. |
| 11 | 大衞不生存男女、攜至迦特、蓋曰、恐其以我事告人云、大衞所爲如此、彼居非利士地、所爲常若是、 | And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines. |
| 12 | 亞吉信大衞、曰、彼使其民以色列深恨之、必永爲我僕、 | And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever. |
